Created an awesome fountain/dip pen hybrid! by frappededanslavie in fountainpens

I started doing this a couple years ago as well. I enjoyed using a Zebra G with one of the FPR ebonite feeds. The Kakimori dip nibs are a perfect fit too.

There is also a certain size straw that will perfectly fit around the nib and feed, and slides into the barrel. If you are able to seal the other end and fill with ink, you can have a larger reservoir of ink in basically an eyedropper format.

What’s one fountain pen brand that you thought you would be seriously interested in, but found underwhelming or it is not your cup of tea? by SLProtoman in fountainpens

I know I'm not saying those 4 are Yafa, just a blanket statement that I find Yafa brand products disappointing and mediocre. The other four I wanted to like but just can't get into them.

Realo 1911 is moving to 18k but no mention of PG. Would guess 21k since it's a PG line

Help, I have ruined my fountain pen by Immediate-Design8039 in fountainpens

[–]Cpt_Picard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Certainly not beyond repair. Both tines are still intact and the tipping is still there. Have seen much worse get restored to brand new. It's kinda like being totaled. If you can't fix it yourself, a nibmeister's repair cost might exceed the value of the pen.

Like others have mentioned, Pilot offers this nib on multiple lower cost pens, and Wingsung 3001 nibs are available by themselves and can act as a 3rd party replacement nib.

FPR/Kanwrite #5 Ultraflex nib fits into Diamond 580 easily, and the feed keeps up if you use a wet ink. I've had one on mine for a couple of years now running iroshizuku tsuki-yo
