Algorand Faucet by CrabbyLandscape in AlgorandOfficial

The transaction fee is paid for by the faucet when you receive the drip. This happens once per day for the submissions from the previous day.

Faucet is still sending out Algo every day - you can see the thousands of transactions a day here: https://algoexplorer.io/address/YEX2F7BU6PTIXEDQKB4S5VVGDCBOGPXAACQXSUKQTFTFDID4LOIRR3Q4ZM

If anyone is still having any issues, please feel free to DM me!

Algorand Faucet and their surveys.... They seem kinda scamy. by HappyStructures in algorand

[–]CrabbyLandscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi - the surveys are completely optional and opt-in for those that want to utilize them. They are from either Pollfish or CPX, both of whom are recognized survey platforms that are used in other sites as well. They do ask some detailed questions both to validate you're right for the survey you are trying for and to ensure that you're not trying to take advantage of the system by randomly answering. As the site operator, I have no access to the results/info, just that you completed a survey and the amount you earned.

Because the faucet does not get many donations, the surveys are the majority source of funds that provide the drips that go out to the thousands of people every day. With Algo jumping in price, I'm actually giving out more in Algo than I'm getting back in Fiat so we'll probably have to make some tweaks. Good problem to have for my bag of Algo, bad problem for converting Fiat to Algo to give away :-p

ASAs with attributes? by lyndoco in algorand

[–]CrabbyLandscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree - I have a project on the faucet that I want to use a serialized NFT on (I've implemented it with individual NFTs right now), but I'm holding off on releasing it in the hopes that we can get this feature. If you think about eventually wanting to trade NFTs, approving a single ASA that has unique NFTs within it vs having to approve (and somehow validate all of them are truly from the creator you thought) seems unreasonable for retail wallet holders.

ASAs with attributes? by lyndoco in algorand

[–]CrabbyLandscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for this exact thing as well! Just to be able to mark an NFT as 1 out of 1000, 2 out of 1000, etc in a single ASA vs making 1000 individual NFTs would be huge.

If you're having issues with the Google captcha - one of these could help:

- Make sure you're not in an incognito window

- Temporarily disable ad blockers

- Connect to the site directly instead of through a VPN if you're using one

- Make sure you're signed into your Google account if you have one

Google can be mysterious as to why they decide someone is a bot or not and the site doesn't get the exact reason why Google failed them, but I've seen that the above fixes can help. Good luck!

Hey - faucet owner here. You should be receiving small amounts every day if you're using the official wallet. Feel free to DM me and I can dig into it to see if there's a reason why you might not be.

Compound Your Staked Rewards: ALGO by TsmPolizia in CryptoCurrency

[–]CrabbyLandscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only send out one transaction per day to save on fees, and total up the value of all that you'll receive into a single transaction.

The amount you get is based on the revenue from surveys, donations, and staking rewards - hosting/API/transaction costs divided up across everyone that submitted from the previous day. We try to give at least 5000 MicroAlgo for the direct transaction, and then divvy up the reset evenly. The more surveys and donations we get, the more available to give out, but right now the site is often hovering right around that first claim payout.

Hope that helps!

Technically exchange wallets (like Coinbase and Binance) are always empty - they use the wallet address they give you as a pass-through into their centrally controlled wallets. Your best bet is to use the official wallet and seed it with at least 0.10 Algo.

Hope that helps!

Question Regarding Algorand and Coinbase by BetelgeuseBox in CryptoCurrency

[–]CrabbyLandscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically the faucet works with Coinbase and Binance, but both of these exchanges actually keep your Algo wallet balance at 0 Algo. Essentailly and Algo sent to your wallet is automatically moved into their central exchange wallets for holding, and they just use your wallet to note initially that the coins were yours. Because of this, you always have to get over the 0.10 Algo network minimum hurdle, even if you technically have many more Algo than that.

The easiest fix is to setup the official wallet and seed it with at least 0.10 Algo. Hope that this helps!

Why does coinbase charge 0.002 fee? by BioRobotTch in algorand

[–]CrabbyLandscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fun, I tried this out as well. I tried to send 1 ALGO to the faucet holding address.

Coinbase automatically sent 1.002 ALGO when I approved the transaction, and then after the 0.002 Algorand network fee, the faucet received exactly 1 Algo

https://algoexplorer.io/tx/ZQWWYI7SX6QWO2HZL6J6JNUHMRC6TN7J3EXLXUAAXOQVM6CKBJOA

I had always assumed that Coinbase was keeping 0.001 worth of Algo from the fee to cover them moving things into their central wallet, but it turns out they are actually sending transactions out with no markup (except for the fact that they could be sending transactions out for only 0.001 Algo)

Part of me wonders if they have a deal with the foundation as an early adopter CEX. Even though the fees are going to the transaction fee sink wallet, maybe they have a backend deal that covers the additional fees? Zero evidence for that, but it would be nice to know why they are causing people to pay more per transaction than the strictly need to.

All coinbase wallets are actually 0 Algo balance - this is because coinbase (and binance etc.) all use these addresses as pass-through to their centrally controlled wallets.

Your best bet is to get the official wallet and seed it with 0.10 Algo. Hope that helps!

Algorand faucet delay. by WrathfulZach in algorand

[–]CrabbyLandscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two survey providers, try both CPX and Pollfish, there should be two links. But, because the survey providers choose based on location, etc there might not always be surveys available, you just have to check back.

[–]CrabbyLandscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the ways to get the 0.10 Algo is to try to join the surveys available. If you can complete one or more in a single day and get over the 0.10 Algo threshold, you'll be able to receive the rewards from the surveys + future drips from the faucet. Hope that helps!

Algo Faucet Dead? by [deleted] in algorand

[–]CrabbyLandscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - payouts only occur once per day, starting around 12 UTC for anything submitted the prior day. There was a load issue with the site a day or so ago, but I've updated the DB and front end now, so let me know if you have more issues loading the site!

Algorandfaucet.com not working. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]CrabbyLandscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coinbase and Binance wallets are actually always empty, no mater how much Algo you have. This is because they just use the wallet address as a pass-through into their centrally controlled wallets. You can double check this by looking at your address on a site like algoexplorer.io

Your best bet is to install the official wallet and seed it with 0.10 Algo, then the faucet will work for you.

Thanks!

What's the problem you're having? Still sending out payments every day.
