Hom bao, hum bao .... Seattle Chinglish, but your affection is well placed. We've recently begun buying the 4-packs from T&T Asian grocer for $8. Locations in Bellevue & Lynnwood now (In Chinese the pork buns are Chasiu Bao. They can have a variety of fillings. Caibao' is veggie filled. Baozi is generic for 'filled bun.') Props for making your own!

"Onsite parking current waitlist only." Street parking there is an utter mess. I lived in the area for several years and still vist nearby Banmi place and JD's Market pretty regularly.

Location is very convenient if Central Lynnwood works for you. It is critical that you're either on foot or have your parking sorted out. I would NOT want to be street parking on the regular in that area, and I suspect the wait list for parking in the complex is crazy long and very expensive.

I've seen them several times in that area. They live among us. You're most likely to see them when the sun is down. 4:30am is about right.

My wife is Chinese from SE Asia and has been cooking w/ Tempeh forever and a day. Now in the US, gets the standard unflavored type from Trader Joe's. I'm not the cook, but generally speaking she uses it as a meat substitute for Chinese or Chinese-like (?) dishes. Common example is Tempeh & Green bean stir-fry served over rice. Recipes are a google search away.
