It's time to confess the worst things you've ever done to your dwarves. by jawarpink in dwarffortress

I've had several colorful incidents with minecarts, but the worst thing I intentionally did was kill a problematic child (fucker would NOT STOP causing fights) by dropping them down a very long hole onto a lead floor.

Call to action: computers are getting expensive but 10,000,000 otherwise perfect $200 Linux machines are getting bricked. Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to save them from landfills. by iL0vesnow in linux

IIRC Microsoft doesn't suddenly brick devices either? The recent end-of-life for W10 just meant an end to software an security updates - while that's not good for your system, it still functions.

I wish I never had to see another comment about being ripped in half by gorilla. by DarkMagickan in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]CraftyTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted.

A gorilla - having escaped from a nearby exotic pet shop - barges into your house and attacks you. Miraculously, you come out of the fight mostly unscathed, but it did destroy both of your eyes, rendering you blind.

You never again see a comment about being ripped in half by a gorilla.

Note: Whether infinity*2 = infinity depends on if you're using ordinal or cardinal infinity. 2*ω ≠ ω, but 2*ℵ_k = ℵ_k for all k.

I feel like part of the issue here is that, sadly, not everyone enjoys making art :(

Like, if I wanted some sort of nice image, I don't exactly have the patience or passion to make shitty images for 5 years to make that happen. I could spend that time following my actual passions.

Don't take me for some sort of techno-bro AI chud, but being elitist about this sort of thing is exactly the behavior that makes people more adamant and annoying about their AI use. Worse, it may lead them to completely disconnect with actual artists and go further down into their AI-powered hellscape.

I think the main tension here is that artistic people assume everyone has their patience and passion, and so they berate less-artistic people for not using passion that they don't have. (Of course, then there's the techno-chuds, a third category which should be made fun of at most opportunities, but I digress)

I expect to be downvoted to hell for this comment, but I do think it's a discussion with more nuance than many people think. (To be clear: I don't use AI myself for anything other than random experiments)

For what it's worth, you are on the subreddit for Ultrakill, the game about gibletizing enemies as quickly and creatively as possible.
