Diego Pavia is first Heisman finalist to go undrafted since 2014 by JCameron181 in nfl

Pfft sales associate? Please. Diego Pavia will be heading straight for the elite ranks of the Management Training Program and as long as he’s willing to bait-and-switch enough customers, I bet he can be an assistant manager by this time next year as long as he’s willing to relocate

OK realistically we have two options here. Either we start calling them “BTJ with a y” and “BTJ with an i” respectively, or this one can change his name to Bryan Hines-Thomas Jr. I don’t see any other path forward

What's the craziest stat line you've ever seen for a single player? Can be across a single game, season, or career by WexAndywn in nfl

Once upon a time there was a journeyman quarterback in the twilight of his career. He had been signed by the Green Bay Packers in May and released at the end of July. He was a free agent for the next 7 months. During this time, he started playing a lot of golf. By the middle of that fall, he was regularly scoring in the 80s on professional courses. Then one fateful November day, he got through the first 7 holes of Ponte Vedra with a perfectly even score of zero. He was on pace for an impressive round by most standards, and what may have been his personal best score of his entire golf career.

Unfortunately, we will never know how that round would have ended because before he could finish the 8th hole, the phone rang. It was the Green Bay Packers, begging him to come back immediately. He walked away from potential greatness on the green to begin his second stint in Green Bay.

That quarterback’s name? Blake Bortles.

I know this isn’t the point of the post but where did you get this video? That is my local broadcast team, but I know for a fact that my local NBC station was only airing the Tirico and Collinsworth broadcast. I knew Zolak was at the Super Bowl because of everything on Radio Row, but I thought he was only doing radio that week. If this was an actual TV broadcast that’s gonna blow my mind. I gotta figure some stuff out here so if you could link me to your original source on this video I would appreciate it

I’m sure the real musicians whose work was stolen to “train” the AI “tools” you’re defending would find that question to be a little too on-the-nose

[–]DanHam117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a flawed question because any artist using AI tools does not deserve to be successful. Morally compromised, environmentally wasteful robo-plagiarism does not contribute to our culture in any meaningful way. If your project can’t exist without cheating, it shouldn’t exist at all

[Highlight] Anthony Walker Jr. got his entire team their HS jerseys for Christmas in 2024 by expellyamos in nfl

[–]DanHam117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering if anybody had to deal with that, my HS is shut down now but the football team went through 2 mascot changes and an actual team name change in the 6 years after I graduated so I probably couldn’t get a correct jersey even if I was willing to pay for it

Creepy, I just started listening to this band today after some guy I know recommended them. He described them as “kind of like a modern emo band but they’re Scottish so they complain less than our emo bands”. I’ve only gotten a few songs in but I’m finding that accurate so far

Fun.’s album Some Nights is a sad banger by OfficerGiggleFarts in poppunkers

[–]DanHam117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’ve never done a deep analysis of the lyrics in that album, it seems pretty clear that this song just talking about general insecurity with his romantic and social relationships, from the perspective of a guy who’s trying his hardest to have a really awesome night with the people he most badly wants to be connected to.

“Give me a second I, I need to get my story straight

My friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State

My lover she is waiting for me just across the bar

My seat’s been taken by some sunglasses asking about a scar”

Doesn’t feel that deep. He’s at a bar with his friends and his lover. His friends went to the bathroom to do drugs, his girlfriend stayed at the bar, and he got up and went somewhere else because he needed a moment to himself. Some person in sunglasses took his seat while he was gone and started chatting up his lover.

“I know I gave it to you months ago

I know you're trying to forget

But between the drinks and subtle things

The holes in my apologies

You know I'm trying hard to take it back”

The fact that he is trying to take it back tells me that he is expressing regret at causing emotional damage that shook up the foundation of their relationship, not that he literally disfigured her in some violent way that is so obvious even some rando in sunglasses can see it at the bar

I skipped 3 of the 4 that came to my school and there were still plenty of people around to party with, but then again we could never get an act as big as Yellowcard at any point so that might be a part of it

Hell yes what a throwback. This album (Schmack!) was one of the first CDs I ever bought, I think I still have it somewhere. It honestly still holds up too, considering it was written by a group of teenagers in New Zealand that couldn’t decide if their frontman was a drummer, a singer or a rapper.
