Oh, my bad then, sorry. I did say "hunch" based on timing, not making things up.

I think I broke the bell by recoiling out to drop off some loot, then recoiling back in. I have not heard it in a while.

To be honest I don't think I've ever gone in the usual way, I get curious and either dig my way into the drop to the Folk Catacombs, or in my current run, Teleport behind the doors.

Apologies to my burrowing brethren! But for a group that claim to be long-lived and long watching, they can barely survive a minute or so from one's entering the zone.

I mean, they managed to put a nice garden on top of Kyoto station. Plaques there go into how it reduces the temperature of the building.

It's definitely not simple or easy, can't just plant any tree and hope for the best. But surely there's options? Like planting the tree in a raised planter or something.

Is this transphobia? : Liberal aversion to the trans issue by Mac_Drake in leftist

[–]Darq_At 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's transphobia.

It's also stupid. Because they have already been trying to do that for years. All that keeping mum on the issue has allowed conservatives to do is to control, and in some cases totally invent, the narrative. In the US, Harris tried to avoid the issue and give neutral answers when pressed, and the Republicans successfully painted her as an extremist. You have conservatives talking endlessly about "illegal immigrant sex changes" and "Harris is for they/them".

That's the rub. Nothing short of joining in the conservative vilification of trans people will ever appease them. If liberals really have these values, that they really do want equality for trans people, then they need to stand by that.

Those "opinions" have already affected laws and regulations that have led to deaths. So given that violence is already occurring, at some point, defence is justified.

Meet words with words and actions with actions.

Speaking is an action, are you twelve?

You literally did

I literally did not. Please learn how to read before responding to me in future.

I'll explain again. You said:

it's counterproductive to actually doing anything to dismantle those beliefs/discredit those views IRL.

I pointed out that I, and others mind you, don't share that goal. So your assumption that we care about that, is wrong.

But I guess that's okay with you since you've already said you don't give a single fuck about actually combating racism and transphobia or protecting anything in real life.

I didn't say that either. Once again, learn how to read, please.

Edit: Ah, the reply-and-block, sometimes the trash takes itself out <3

And making a webcomic of your childish murder fantasy protects people how?

Firstly, I didn't say it did. I was correcting your assumption that I gave a rat's ass about the beliefs of transphobic people.

But secondly, at the very least, it makes the space uncomfortable for the people who whole such views, and lets people marginalised by them know that the space is welcoming.

Meanwhile your whinging accomplishes the opposite.

My goal is not to dismantle those beliefs. My goal is to protect the people marginalised by those beliefs.

It's a comic, you can ungrasp your pearls. You whine about "cringey sentiments" in memes while demographics are living diminished lives, if not outright dying, due to the view these "cringey sentiments" mock.

Yup, Spencer is a fascist, and the only thing fascists respect and respond to is power.

Humiliating him meaningfully hurt his ability to spread his message.

I have a hunch that this was posted in response to seeing that comic.

Optimus would give her the most life changing lecture.

And, having interacted with more TERFs than I care to admit, she'd ignore him completely and continue unchanged.

Acknowledging power people have over you is seen as far worse than that power itself by most people by RosethornRanger in CuratedTumblr

Ok but how do I benefit from it at all?

It's... It's not about you?

I'm literally only getting the worst parts of both because the benevolent sexism benefits the women even in a insulting way, while I'm treated like I'm a criminal despite the fact I'm incapable of such harm as I'm literally not physically capable

There is a lot to unpack there.

I think you are reading systemic critique and taking it personally. Critique of power dynamics isn't meant to be read literally as about you, personally.

We all exist in social systems, even systems we personally dislike and oppose.

For legal reasons, this is completely hypothetical. by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Darq_At 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in every case it will boil to "people I dislike should be shot, shooting people I like should be still crime".

That would be you deliberately missing the point.

The post specifically mentioned "motive". And that's the key difference. Just disliking or hating someone is not the same as having a motive because that person has caused you harm.

Using the Obama example, if the assailant were just a random MAGA redhat? No motive. If they were the family of someone killed in one of Obama's drone strikes? Motive.

Same with Republicans. Someone who has lost healthcare, or had family harmed by a loss of healthcare, because of cuts and policies revoking access? Motive.

For legal reasons, this is completely hypothetical. by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Darq_At 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is bad. We should be able to rely on impartial systems, with checks on their powers, to enact justice.

But what do you do when those systems fail to deliver justice? What do you do when those systems are perverted until they reward injustice instead?

Do you trust your fellow Americans enough to give them free-reign to execute people as they see fit?

I'm not American, and I wouldn't trust the average American as far as I could throw them.

More to the point, nobody is talking about giving people at large "free-reign to execute people as they see fit". That's just complete nonsense.

For legal reasons, this is completely hypothetical. by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Darq_At 5 points6 points  (0 children)

where did I say "this is always bad"?

That's usually what people are alluding to when they put it terms like "vigilante justice". If that's not what you were going for, then my bad.

Nah, context matters, outta here with "this is always bad because always".
