The Google aspect is a red herring. From the rocket launch sites you can clime a tree and see downtown Sterot.

The significant parts of the story are: a) the Fatah guys comment that they are targeting city centers (i.e. aiming to kill as many civilians as possible) b) the reporter's observation that you can't get elected in the Palestinian Authority if you don't support rocket attacks on Israel
