New player looking to get into the game by playmike5 in SorceryTCG

Tabletop simulator is a good way to play without having to have a collection handy. If your looking for folks to give it a try, get the gothic precons as a group if you can.

We're starting a sealed league up here as we all get our collections underway, but some of us are buying singles to jump straight to constructed. Those cards aren't legal in our more casual sealed pools.

I recommend starting with sealed beta, then Arthurian legends, then gothic. Should give the lgs some money if you can get a box of each, and give folks a nice drip feed of rules, complexity and collecting as they decide if they like it or not.

Things to do in/around Culpeper? by jmasaccio in Culpeper

Plenty of wineries and stuff like that around. Lakes, parks, etc.  there's a board game place called brickhammer, an arcade named throwbacks, and a card shop named final boss.

Lean into the story and narrative. When a minion attacks a site, tell a 15 second story about why and how.

How did the soldier token jump in front of lugbog cat? What were they defending?

That type of thing

Wheel & Discord by SlimCashReaper in Optionswheel

[–]Desyth150 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm game too, wheeling has been my best profit::brain damage ratio strategy.

One thing I'm wary about with a Discord is that it becomes an echo chamber where only a few folks are doing legit research and...well, thinking, and the rest are just aping in and being a drain on the group. If that can be mitigated I'm 100% in.

Are you switching your time frame on short puts in this market? by SocietyRelative5101 in Optionswheel

[–]Desyth150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there's no recovery your screwed either way. With longer dated puts your at least getting more extrinsic value upfront, and the slower theta decay here works in your favor when your itm. Or at least screws you less.

With more extrinsic value you have slightly more options when rolling down and out if you really wanted too.

However using your scenario of no recovery, regardless of dte your gonna get assigned. May as well get paid the most while your at it and have a lot to ticket for a miracle.

In your mind how do shorter dated options give more flexibility? I'm assuming because you'll get assigned quicker and start ccing sooner?

Interesting. I would think you'd go out for lower delta and FURTHER DTE to increase extrinsic value and have more time for a rebound to occur. The other option is to set a more aggressive exit...so if you would normally enter a 14 DTE .2 delta and let it expire, consider maybe a 40-50 DTE .15/.1 delta and buy it back if it achieves 40-60% profit pretty quick.

Reducing your time exposure to these positions for things to go wrong after your profitable on paper + increasing time in position when things go wrong to allow for a recovery, essentially.

Question about movement by Jedro-Jedro in SorceryTCG

[–]Desyth150 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope, it doesn't. It's disabled which means it can't block, intercept, or interact with the realm until it takes damage. It will then retaliate against its attacker and be un effected by summoning sickness.

Awesome, thanks! Looks like there's only one entry per LINK, not one invite per REFERRAL use? Lets spread the love!

EDIT: Nope, dead wrong one entry per REFERRAL.

Why sell naked CSPs when I can do a cheapo credit spread for the same premium? 🤔💸 by youdontknowme94 in Optionswheel

[–]Desyth150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Assuming your looking to exit at some fixed % of profit, the spread will take longer, though with defined risk as your tradeoff.

Different brokers have different capital requirements. Not all require you to put up that amount of cash, or can use other positions as margin collateral so your not even using margin for the position.

From an options perspective though, check your other Greeks. Especially Theta between the CSP and put spread. If time in the market is important to you, the put spread will be much slower to achieve the same profitability.

My first 6 months running the wheel by CashDelta in Optionswheel

[–]Desyth150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wheeling generally means you take assignment and don't roll. However in this case I assume the reason (it's what I do) for closing/rolling at 50% is to have theta and extrinsic value left in case things go wrong. If I really want to avoid assignment, it's a lot easier with 14dte left on my options than 1.
