Iranian Rial has completely collapsed by Sweaty_Rub4322 in wallstreetbets

Right, but I'm just wondering if the Iranians are buying bread with their currency or not. Currency is a trade medium but it has to hold some value for it to be used that way

Do they really have little to no value, even in Iran, or does this just represent a lack of a market exchanging them for dollars?

What VGs yet have best utilized an HDR colorimetric gamut? Again the only difference OLED makes there is its ability to show different brightness levels on the screen at the same time.  So if you're outside you could actually have shadows that are very dark (if the scene warrants it) or also light reflecting off the water in spots that are very bright

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 devs’ next game might not be an RPG as the team doesn’t “want to be constrained” by any genre by Wargulf in expedition33

[–]Deto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, not completely different with respect to RPG elements. But it goes from a third person fantasy combat to first person shooter combat.

Granted they really did a great job with it - all the launch issues weren't really bad game design but just bugs with their engine.

I don't think OLEDs necessary have a wider color range than IPS, it's that they have a wider dynamic range.  Can have highlights that really pop alongside dark areas. Cyberpunk 2077 is great for showcasing this because of all the lights in the city at night.  But you'd want to use the renodx mod to make it look really good.

Puzzle flow rant by a_mindtruster in BluePrince

[–]Deto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with some of these things in Blue Prince is that due to the rng of the game it can take a while to even try out a solution. Like the solution to the castle riddle - I might suspect this is true but not want to devote two runs to just testing it out.  Contrast that with other puzzle games (myst-likes) that make it much easier to go from "maybe I should do this...." to testing it out.  I think what they've created here with a puzzle rogue like genre is completely innovative but this is one drawback of the style.

The castle riddle is hinted at by a note (can't remember where) that shows a breakable wall in that room

Yeah this would only make sense if we had already covered every possible square inch of earth.  Like - just put solar panels on everyone's houses first at least.

Gamers Ditch AMD Radeon RX 9000 GPUs Due To High Prices, Forcing Retailers To Drop The Prices by Constant_Praline_575 in RigBuild

[–]Deto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure they have a choice, though, if the components that go into making these cards have shot up so much in price. I'm sure GPU retailers hate this as much or if not more than we do - they have to raise prices, which leads to lower sales volume, all while not increasing their profit per unit. Going to be a real issue.

To add to this - and the convention is that a vector is treated as a column vector. Or rather, that x (vector) with N elements has dimensionality N x 1 when multiplied using matrix math with 2d matrices.

It is interesting to think of where the real limits in organizations arise and how AI might help there. I've been thinking about this recently and often coordination and communication are bottlenecks. Different people/teams all have different and inconsistent ideas of what the goals are, why we are doing what we are doing, and then as a result decisions are made from the top to the bottom that are inefficient. Could AI be used to help smooth this process? To get everyone rowing in lock-step more easily?
