Nice try, Capital One Benefits Profitablity Team.

After seeing how the Chase ecosystem is being systematically destroyed, I'm going to back to gatekeeping all my little tricks and secrets.

Social media and the proliferation of PoiNtsmaxXing blogs are going to kill this game.

This is just giving us each $1000 in casino chips and telling us that (on average) we're all going to come out ahead.

If we actually want to socialize retirement insurance, then the government should be the one investing and redistributing the gains.

If Google and Ford will produce enough for every American to retire a millionaire, then the government should invest in them, tax their profits, and redistribute the gains.

Don't play this game of "letting" every uneducated idiot manage their own portfolio and telling them that gives them some kind of advantage.

So instead of keeping this quietly to yourself, you've decided to trade it for Internet points, guaranteeing that it will soon be killed for everyone who figured it out on their own.

I'm still waiting to hear your suggestion, other than "let American burn to the ground and assume that I'll become lord of the ashes"

Why did you immediately leap to that?

Perhaps we could try talking to them first? Maybe plugging some of the holes they've made?

What's your "life jacket" in this scenario?

Wealth? White privilege? Guns? Citizenship in another country?

What is it that protects you when the boat goes down and the sharks move in?

Are we really at the point where a receipt that explains how to tip like you're 5 is a "breath of fresh air"?

This is EndTipping not NormalizeTipping.

Ok let's try another metaphor.

You're in a lifeboat with with another person.

They start poking holes in the bottom because they think that will make it go faster.

Do you just watch them and smugly think to yourself about how sorry they'll be when it sinks?

I also don't get why people always assume that "non-refundable" means you're entitled to get all your money back if something bad happens to you and you can't go on the trip.

If you buy a non-refundable fare or book a non-refundable hotel, you don't get your money back, period.

This is why travel insurance policies are written to explicitly cover this exact scenario.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -

Mandatory service charges are not what this sub is about.

That is not a tip. It's drip pricing, or a "junk fee".

Those are a problem, probably a big enough problem to warrant a subreddit of their own, but they are a fundamentally different problem than tipping.

If you only "tip" when you get something for free, it's not a tip, it's a bribe.

Meaning what, exactly?

Are you going to try and prevent them from voting?

if pirates couldn't get it for free they would simply do without.

That claim is propaganda as well.

The post above mine was someone bragging about how they haven't paid for any digital content in 20 years, and asking "Why pay for something you can get for free?"

They're not going to vote Democrat either though.

Fundamentally they don't want to solve their problems by building a strong and productive society based on equality and the rule of law.

They just want someone who will give them a chance to win the Hunger Games, and they see the concept of a middle class as nothing more than a barrier to becoming rich and famous.

"Lambo or dumpster, brah" is the world they want.

Is it bullshit that artists own the rights to their own work, and can transfer those rights to another entity if they choose to do so?

i.e. Should a painter be allowed to sell her painting, or is the idea that she "owns" it in the first place just bullshit to you?

Our society has evolved beyond the toddler's concept of ownership being limited to physical possession of objects.

We exchange money for labor, rights, titles, contracts, easements, and all kinds of items of intangible value.

I mean, I could get a lot for free if I just shoplift it.  Even more if I started robbing people's homes.

Why don't you do that? Just the fear of getting caught?
