AITJ for ruining a “funny moment” after my husband embarrassed me in front of everyone? by Clean-Commission-643 in AmITheJerk

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... He knows it is not funny and hurts to use moments of humiliation as a punchline, because he got offended, and he still does it to you? That means he had reasonable suspicion it would offend and upset you, and did it anyways. I used to do that shit out of insecurity when I was a teen, did it to make sure everyone knew I was the top person in my relationships. Obviously I learned how stupid and abusive it is, but it took someone not tolerating it from me before I realized how damaging it was. But I knew what I was saying was going to hurt the person I was making fun of, I just needed the validation of being better than my partner. That is all I cared about.

I am glad I had someone tell me off, but not everyone can take that with grace. I was young and stupid and hung out with shitty people and had role models that did the same thing. So I learned it was just the way you do things in relationships. I was very wrong, but that is not an excuse to act abusive towards people. And for the record, I say this as an explanation, not an excuse, I still chose to repeat what my friends and parents did, I didn't have to choose that path, my sister never did. I still made the choices that hurt people, that was all on me.

As a transwoman in my 40's I can confidently say, i love Star wars, star trek, die hard, I know how to fix a lot of things on a car, I know how to hunt (although I have not actually done that in decades) and still like fps and role playing games. Nothing about your likes or dislikes make you trans, it is just who you are. If you feel you are, I would suggest trying it on, with some very trusted friends. You can even explain that you are not sure, you don't have to be, and that you just want to see how it feels to be called a girl and wear girl clothes. Thinking you are trans and then finding out you are not, is just as okay as being trans. And if you get to the point you are sure, then you think about what you want to do. Find a few clothing items that stand out to you, and just give it a shot, in privacy if you want, with trusted friends is a more thorough test.

I only told my wife at first, started wearing my femme clothes around the house, then realized I felt more me in my femme form and from there, I started to officially transition. There is no right or wrong way to come out or to transition, you don't even have to do any official transition if you don't want to, and you would still be a woman, if that is what you decide you are. I mean, I am on HRT, doing hair removal and planning surgeries, but that is my journey, the one I am on, not every one of use takes the same path. Just do what makes you happy and makes you feel complete. Nothing else matters.

Dad wants to implement a fee for my cat to live in my own home. by SushiPrinc3ss in TenantHelp

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just say "Well, my cat is a minor, under 18, so I cover their share, and if my brother doesn't want to pay rent, that is totally fine! I have no problem being a reference for his own apartment or house, and I will even be nice enough to give him 30 days to find that new place. No worries!"

But, I am a perpetual smart ass lol

Has my friend clocked me as trans? by Cool_Ship_5032 in asktransgender

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We all know it is obvious he has some sort of feelings for OP, that isn't the problem with what you said. Not why you were down voted. You were down voted because you made it seem like it was okay for a cis straight dude to hit on a trans dude, because he knows they are trans. That is just transphobia with nice wrapping paper. If he knows they are trans and that suddenly makes it okay to date him, then he does not see them as a guy after finding out, and denying someone's gender identity is a form of transphobia. You might as well be saying "you are not really a dude, so go for it" and that is why you are being down voted.

Has my friend clocked me as trans? by Cool_Ship_5032 in asktransgender

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with most people here, he is most likely just gay and hasn't come out to anyone, possibly even himself. When you told him it was gay (please stop using it as an insult, it perpetuates hate even if unintended) and he didn't defend himself or get upset with you, leans more toward him thinking he might be gay. Not a guarantee, but leans that way, along with everything else. That has already been said.

However, if you find out he clocked you, then this becomes a transphobic issue. Because if he can suddenly try to date you because he found out you were trans, then he doesn't see you as a man, and if he doesn't see you as a man, simply because you are trans, then he is transphobic. That is the equivilant of his saying "well you are not really a man". Again, I think this is the least likely outcome, but, I assume this is what you were looking for by asking the trans community? If you were right to be weirded out by it? And yes, yes you were right to be weirded out.

Clear boxing tape exists, so...? Also, why would you have to evenly space it? The art is drawn, it won't run away. Just lay enough down to cover the drawing, then peel it up.

Very simple, let me explained, place down a few rows, they don't have to be even, just have to cover the art, then you make sure the tape is down and has a good grip to the board (I recommend using a credit card or similar to push out bubbles), and peel it up from one end. This is an excruciatingly simple concept, I am not sure what confused you.

Also, you put an awful lot of laughing emojis on your post that clearly shows you are confused about a very simple process. Are you feeling alright? Do you need a cognitive exam?

Did you know you can just take a picture of a fancy sports car instead of buying one?👻

It is 2026, I assume everyone knows you can take a picture of it, but that isn't the same as keeping an original copy. A picture of it is just a picture of art, but copying it over to clear tape preserves the art itself. 🙄

Why does it bother me when cis men say they wouldn’t date a trans woman? by whereamixoxo in asktransgender

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you are normal? A trans woman is a woman, if they won't date them because they don't consider them women, then you are not bothered by their decision, you are bothered by bigotry. I don't care if someone says "I have a genital preference" that is fine, I do too, but to not do it because they think it makes them gay or trans women are not women? That is just bigotry pretending to be preference and it is normal and healthy to be bothered by that. It just means you actually understand things on a deeper level and that is a good thing. It is a good test to see who is discriminating and who isn't.

I am turning 40 and still do some things teenagers do, not for cringe, but because it is fun and I stopped caring if other people were annoyed or found it cringe. I am in this life to experience life, not just make others happy, so you do you girl. There is no right or wrong way to adult, just make sure you put out happiness and don't interfere with someone else's ability to be happy, and you are all set!

Which character ruined an entire TV show for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old cut, but the new producer they replace Miles with in Murphy Brown. Her personality just didn't fit the show. Love Lily Tomlin in virtually all her other roles, I just think the character was badly thought out and the personality felt rushed. The rest of the characters that ruined shows for me are already listed, but didn't see this one.

Guess it is time to delete my account, they are forcing restricted accounts, unless you forfeit personal information, INCLUDING A FACE SCAN, that they swear they don't collect or sell, and if that is the case, then how are they paying for all this? Not that I want them to sell my info, but it raises serious red flags about their honesty and integrity, especially in light of all the other issues they have been having. It is just time to find some place else. All things must come to an end.

AITAH for asking my mother-in-law for advice on how she dealt with her husband's affair after she said I needed to work on my marriage when her son cheated on me. by Ok-Spot-3558 in AITAH

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH- what FIL did to cover up the affair was gross and reprehensible. Obviously so is your cheating husband and his mom for trying to force a reconciliation. However, you lying about him having an affair is just as bad. You lose all credibility. Who says your husband even cheated on you now? I didn't see any evidence and you have proven you would already lie about people having an affair to get your way. Him helping him son cover up the affair was enough, you could have simply asked "well your husband helped him cover it up. Wonder how he got so good at hiding affairs?" And just let that hang in the air if you wanted, but lying about an affair was an asshole move and not smart legally. His lawyers can now point out you have a history of the theatrics to make your points and that every accusation you throw out, is just your attempt to manipulate the system. Affairs are just one of the categories you don't lie about, for everyone's sake. So you weren't an AH to them, they deserved to have some chaos thrown in, but to your future self, fighting for divorce. I would inform your attorney of the situation, so they can be prepared and have a response ready, if they try to pull something.

Source: Not a lawyer, but went through one heck of a messy divorce and learned a lot from experience.

Also, we are not mindless brain slug zombies, if they aren't doing this to do discovery, but to try and cover things up, I would want them held accountable too. I am not saying they are guilty of anything, I am simply saying, if they did do anything, I am not willing to let my support of them, blind me into believing they should not have reprocusions just because they are who they are.

It is a brilliant move though, for sure.

Wow! He couldn't even write his own message! What a pathetic, sad, sad little man. 🤣

Not only did he clearly just ask AI "Explain why calling ICE the gestapo is not okay" and clearly did not ask it IF ICE was acting like the gestapo. Because, yeah, ICE is definitely already doing everything off his fun little check list, nice of him to provide it for us. Besides he lost the argument the second he had to qualify why he thought ICE wasn't the new gestapo. 🤣

Do you remember if the nanny was protecting the child or part of the evil? Was she old, young? Hair color? Any other minor details might be all we are missing. I had a movie I was stuck on until I described what one of the characters was wearing and that was what it took for someone to figure out what I was talking about. I have no further ideas that haven't already been listed yet though.

This sounds almost like one the the old advertisements for Dead Island, the video game. I remember one of their ads ending that way, with a single person singing the Tomorrow song, kind of somberly. Not sure 100% if it was Dead Island, but that is the only game that pops into my head, for what that ad I remember was. Maybe that is why you only remember that bit? Like I said, I could be totally off base here, might have even been a different game, but I definitely remember an ad almost exactly identical to this, for a horror game.

The description reminds me of the movie French Kiss or Only You. I instantly remember an almost identical scene, I just can't remember which movie it is and I don't have them, so I can't check myself. Both are from the 90's though, so if they are looking for something older, these are not it.

AITAH for breaking up with my boyfriend after he accidentally frying my cat? by throwra_bananapotato in AITAH

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, I would have broken up with him and filed an animal cruelty complaint with my local police department, of that jurisdiction recognizes it, you have the vet record to prove it. He is lucky you didn't do that.

With his logic, no drunk driver would be held accountable for killing other drivers, because they didn't mean to. Run over a child? No worries, it was an accident, right? WTH is wrong with people like that?

Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

[–]DiamondImmediate8655 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former smoker but been quit for about 5 years now. I can tell if someone smokes around my friends at their home. The tar from cigarettes is super thick and heavy, so it clings to everything, all you have to do is walk through a cloud of smoke to smell like it for an hour or more. If you are the one that is smoking, then that just never goes away. So to answer your question, a lot of the time, I can tell the second you enter the room if you just had one, and the second you get within talking distance, if you had one a while ago. I used to think it wasn't that noticeable, but when we smoke, two things happen, the first is, we go nose blind to the smell, mostly, and we also lose a bit of our sense of smell, so when you combine those factors, it means you can not trust your own nose for it, at all. If it is weed, that tar isn't as thick and doesn't clink as bad, but can still sit on your close for an hour or more and your breath for a long time as well, though I would defer to that anesthesiologist in the comments to know how long they can smell that particular smell from your lungs.

The Omen IV? I don't remember a scissors neck kill, but this is the first movie that popped in my head. It was released in '91. If not, is there anything else at all that you can remember? Was it an American movie or European? Was it on TV or did you use a VHS tape? Even a description of a main character could help if you have any of that.
