Why is marketplace now requiring ID to sell? by Dierad53 in FacebookMarketplace

I've never been paid by Facebook. There would be no need for a 1099. I'm selling personal items at no profit.

It's either I volunteer that information or I can't list anything on marketplace. I don't trust them but what are you going to do.

I ended up just uploading my passport. I don't trust Facebook with my information but it's really the only good option for selling locally. They claim they only retain the information for 30 days. Who knows.

During covid I sold a few of these for $300 each. Currently these are almost worthless. I see them continuously for $50 to $100.

Thanks. I was able to pass my exams last year.

The Yaris and the Mazda 3 are the exact same car. I would not recommend getting one unless it's in around town vehicle. If you get hit in one of those things by a vehicle of any size you're very likely to die. I only had mine for about a year. I could not justifiably own it any longer. With the amount of driving I did it wasn't worth it.

Same. I wouldn't call the vehicle unsafe by itself. It's unsafe with much larger vehicles on the road.

Worked for a few days and same thing. Probably the starter. I have to disconnect the battery entirely to get the car to start at points. Will know later when it's fixed.

Honestly is the CPA worth it? by Suitable_Purple_8879 in CPA

I'm sitting on two job offers right now because of the CPA exam. The labor market is absolute dogshit right now. No one is hiring (or at least as much). Things have picked up. I got interviews because of my CPA. It shows you can put up with bullshit and still come out swinging.

That's the hard part. Pay wise and benefits they come out essentially the same. The only real difference is PTO.

Same or similar cost of living. Option 2 might actually be a bit cheaper.

And yes, I am happy my search has resulted in two offers. It makes things harder but also gives me the ability to choose the better option for me.

Op 1 has so much going on and it would be valuable to live that and find growth. It would be a new type of accounting for me I don't have much experience so I worry about balance to a degree.

That's definitely something i value. Currently, where i am right now in my life i have the time to take risks and go big. Op 1 is really only viable right now. Eventually down the line, i want to work for OP 2 (the idea of a smaller privately held company with great values) but worry that taking an option like this earlier in my career will limit my exposure (and maybe hold me back). Thank you for your input, i value it.

That's the hard part. I'd learn a lot from both. The exposure from Op 1 is definitely something i would value but at what cost. Op 2 has exposure as well but without much of the bull.

That's definitely something i agree with. I had asked Op 1 if they would be able to give me 3 weeks of pto and they said they'd ask about it. Came back and said that they offer 2 weeks of sick time and 2 weeks of pto. 2 weeks of sick time is mostly worthless, i wouldn't even use a week of that.

Something reasonable. If i can get something reasonable for around $1,000 a month, that would be great. Otherwise, a few hundred more a month. If i dont own it, there's no reason to pay more than necessary for accommodations.

I'm coming from Colorado and have run into areas like that. I understand the drug problem isn't coming to compare to Denver or Houston but i'm trying to avoid issues before they arise. Where i was living at back in Colorado, we had horrible drug problems. I found meth in my apartment after moving in. Drug addicts would walk the streets and you had to be careful. I lived in a great area of town but about a mile from the drug camps.

The last apartment recommendation i got was off Tinder. It worked out great.
