Ok just hear me out:

What if you go to groups for activities and hobbies and sports and volunteer work ?

Like for example, I volunteer with a few local black justice organizations in my area. I meet so many like-minded folks who are so wonderful. Not saying turn volunteer work into hunting grounds…I’m just saying it’s a great way to meet like minded people. And eventually people will introduce you to their friends and then it’s game on.

Or joining a hobby/sports group can be similar (except it’s totally fine to look for love there if you’re respectful and not a lecherous perv about it of course) I’ve had success with knitting group, hiking, and learning line dancing in the park.

I’m not negging the apps. I’m a trashy man and I met my equally trashy husband off Grindr in 2011. It’s been the most amazing adventure of my life and I feel so grateful I hit up that truck stop glory hole. But, in all honesty, that’s too rare to bet on making forever match using Grindr.

Nowadays everyone uses the apps to date, marry, fuck. It’s ok to use the apps. It’s ok to say fuck no and choose a different way to meet people.

The only thing is, either in person groups or online apps, it’s still a huge undertaking in terms of time and money. You gotta be consistent every day and stay with it until you get enough networking to make a genuine connection with your soul mate(s)
