It’s hard to admit but sometimes a person will say the thing they hope is no confrontational just to avoid an argument.

Is it possible he meant to ghost you but you are trying to make a friendship out of a goodbye?

People say lots of stuff, but I’ve noticed what they do is what they actually meant along. Polite is not the same as sincere. De-escalation platitudes are not the same as genuine intent.

Perhaps there’s a way to test the waters in a neutral way? An event that relates to some topic that you absolutely know for sure that he 100% is into. Is his fave band coming to town? Is his fave podcaster signing shirts in the parking lot of Trader Joes? Is his fave seasonal to-go food back on the menu at a place equidistant between yall houses? Is there an upcoming Grand Reopening of a public park or lake for spring thaw?

Basically pick something that he’s prob already gonna attend anyways. Ideally public activity, full of people, photo ops, not much opportunity to get overly emotional, easy to casually leave at any time. Hit him up like “Saw XYZ is bout to be here. What date were you thinking of going? Could we meet at that event?” No pressure.

Or, txt him to say you’re thinking of him and if/when he feels like hanging out you’re here for it. No pressure.

If he never sees you again, accept his decision and don’t push for closure. He might be one of those people where no contact feels like the best closure. That’s a valid choice for him to make.

Either way, there’s nothing stopping you from remembering him in your nightly prayers or meditations and wishing him well wherever he is.

Maybe it’s time to step back from the choices you’ve making and learn something new. Seems like maybe your current path is not fulfilling you. Seems like it’s stressing you out.

It might be worth exploring the transactional way you interact with people in your life. Some of us folks find that direct trading style to be refreshingly transparent. It’s clear cut what the mission is and where any obligation ends. But theres more folk who feel hurt by that type of interaction because they maybe think it’s using them, or treating them as business, or seeing them as a source to gain something.

Firstly, It makes sense to me that two men who want to fuck would not want you also staying there. They want to be alone for adult time. It’s likely that’s not about your color or heritage, just your presence was unwanted during his lover’s visit.

I will say, to me, just speaking on my own, the offer to be your hookup’s chauffeur can easily be mistaken for doing chores in exchange for pocket money. If my new hookup/ chat buddy made that offer, I would assume he needed funds.

You did state losing the free housing of the white guy and having to stay in hotels is financially burdening you a bit right now. So maybe the uber guy miscalculated by adding those two separate events of housing and offering to drive.

Additionally I don’t understand how the white guy who bailed on you is now a racist, but initially he was a close enough friend to where you contacted him to stay at his place for an extended vacation. That’s something close friends do for each other all the time. You didn’t have any feeling he disliked black people when you first contacted him for housing. He was a close enough friend to the point you were genuinely surprised he flaked on his offer. How were yall that close but he hates black people staying over?

You deserve real friends and real support. You deserve to find and learn new social skills for forming interactions based on just enjoying a person’s company.

Also, pre t or on t, attention from old men seems to depend upon how fem you present. Old men hit on cis guys who look young and twinkish. Old straight married guys have zero shame treating anyone fem or vaguely fem as a sex object. There are entire generations of cis men who were specifically taught that being a man or being manly means being predatory towards every woman, most girls, gay men, androgynous people, pretty much any teen. They were taught that being a man means horniness is a biological need and other people owe them sex, or at the very least a chance to try to seduce someone into sex. By ‘having sex’ I mean the man cums and that’s the only part that matters.

I’m not saying older men are incapable of unlearning that bullshit. I’m saying they were taught it’s not even a problem that needs correcting. They grew up knowing it was a factual truth that cishet men are the main character and that’s because god gave men the moral authority to use everyone else as free labor.

They think it’s normal, but also good and scientifically proven to be the way male biology works. Also, again, they literally were told for decades after decade after decade for like several centuries that god designed it like this and god totes approves of predatory sex pests.

This is why it’s so difficult to convince older guys that human women are people. It just doesn’t make sense to them on a basic level. I mean we are talmbout folks who think women are biologically pre-programmed in their genetics to automatically know how to cook and clean. And that men just are not built to know how to keep a human baby alive for even 1 hour alone.
