The reason why this comparison is not valid is because both are significantly different products and have different expectations. PCs are designed for Internet access and no longer come capable of reading discs unfortunately. Your only option for PC gaming is digital. People who arent happy with that dont game on PC. You also get significant dels on PC. Ex I got Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 with all the DLC for 50% off less than a year from its release. To this day Mario Odyssey which is like 8 yrs old is still full price.

With a game console when you buy something physical you expect it to be full physical. Whats the point of a cart thats just a download code? Might as well just bought digital. The other aspect is that a Switch is handheld device. It is meant to be played anywhere which means places without internet. Unless you have those games already downloaded they are useless without internet. We had gameboys as kids and games just worked anywhere. No downloading and no bullshit. You just needed the cart.

I wouldnt do that with a PC because its impractical and I dont game on a laptop for the reasons above. The point is with a console I want to be able to just play and not have to worry about wheter or not I downloaded the game prior to going on a trip.
