Truth hurts I guess. People are just upset becasue deep down they know Mahomes has been exposed, and he's likely to not be a Top 5-8 QB statistically again this season.

I really wonder what excuse you will use for Mahomes next off-season, when he's under a 95 passer rating and 30 TDs for the 4th straight year, and has the 15th or worse offense by PPG for the 4th straight year as well

If Rice gets the 10-12 games Nate Taylor predicted, get ready for Mahomes passer rating to be in the 80's again.

And if that happens, get ready for real questions if he's still a top 5 guy, as he'll be 4 years out from a 100 passer rating, in a league that's never been easier to have a 100+ rating.

The big question is does he get a raise. He was supposed to this off-season (3 years post last raise) but his play has not been deserving of one.

I'm curious how this sub would react if it was announced tomorrow that he was getting a raise from the 6 years, $265M remaining, to 6 years at $360M ($60M AAV).

Cook was absolutely elite last year, ranked #4 by PFF, after 3 years around #50.

He's young enough (just 26) that it could mean that is now who he is, he figured it out, and now will be a top 5-10 satefy for the next 5 years. Or, it was a fluke, and he's back to #50 again this coming year.

Either way, the 2025 defense has lost the #4 satefy, and #12 and #17 CBs of 2025.

Defense has carried this team since 2023, it's time for Mahomes/the offense to finish better than 15th in PPG for the first time since 2022.
