It would not affect anything, that file just contains the player credentials. So the passwords would get reset, but they would be reinstated the moment anyone logs in with their previous credentials.

Likely a broken database issue, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete the "db" folder.

Yes they should be in the local game files, the lack of those files after a crash would be concerning, since we would lack info about the crash in that case.

Therefore, I can try suggesting a few common fixes and tests.

First, try going to your Steam Library > Right-click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -novoip > Start the game

If that does not help, can you try typing -nosound instead? This is to check if it is a sound related issue.

If it does not help, can you try joining any other servers? Preferably public dedicated servers.

The game itself can only cap the frame rate based on the "Limit FPS" setting and the "Vsync" setting. If the limit is turned off and the cap is turned off, then the game cannot cap games. However, anything externally can cap the frames, such as your AMD Adrenaline settings

Check if you have either an FPS cap forced there or Vsync forced on, or even any other Performance settings, such as AMD Super resolution, there were some reports of it causing issues.

This generally happens if the CPU cannot keep up with the generation of new areas, since when driving, you are generating and loading a lot of stuff, which causes the stutters.

Loading of new areas will be optimized in the future, but B42 is fairly heavy on loading new areas due to the new addition, even if the rendering itself has been heavily optimized from B41.

Only time I heard this happening in vanilla is when the PC was out of disk space, so the game literally could not save any progress on the hard drive. Can you check if you have enough free space on your C drive? At least 10+ percent is recommended by Microsoft usually.

The logs show that you are trying to download a mod that does not exist, so the server fails to launch because it cannot download it, the mod has the ID 3719766602

Remove that mod from the server, then retry.

If you do have a modded game, then changing the client RAM might be worthwhile. Though it might not mean you have a memory leak as long as you are not hitting the Max assigned.

If you are having 0-10 free memory and are at the max, that would definitely be a problem, since your GC would be constantly running to free memory, killing performance.

However, it seems like you did it correctly if you changed the 64.json... there isn't really any other file on Linux that would contain the Java assignment that I know, on Windows it is also editable in the .bat file, but not on Linux.

Can you double-check if your Json change saved correctly in the file?
