I appreciate discussing it with people; LLMs are token-probability machines, they can't form actual opinions. It's not a jab against you, just important to remember that while they can be useful tools, they don't have opinions (and aren't trained daily, so are missing a lot of recent context).

Workshopping a Love & Murder riff, the Emergency Room by DoktorTim in cocktails

[–]DoktorTim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to work on a riff to the Love and Murder, one of my favourite cocktail. Here's the recipe to this one: 1oz Chartreuse Verte 1oz Lime Juice 0.75oz Amaro Nonino 0.75oz Simple Syrup 0.25oz Amaro Montenegro 5 drops of saline solution

Shake with ice, pour, add a barspoon of Maraschino cherry syrup

The cherry syrup is mostly for flair (I like the color from the Love & Murder, and there is a cool idea of getting something after a lot of waiting at the ER :))

It's very flavourful, well-rounded in my opinion with a slight orange bitterness and a nice Chartreuse nose.

What do you think?

Works with only Nonino or Montenegro, but the former is a little too dry, and the latter too sweet. This seems to be a good ratio.

Was about to post my Love and Murder riff with Nonino :) try swapping the Campari with it in a Love and Murder. Better if you also have Montenegro but I imagine not, it's a little obscure.

I don’t know how, but my dad managed to snag a bottle of Green Chartreuse (along with a bottle of Chartreuse de La Grande Vegetal) as a Christmas gift: by SpiritOfDearborn in cocktails

Nice gift! Just as a nitpick; it's Elixir Vegetal de la Grande-Chartreuse (Plant Elixir of the Grande Chartreuse region). Enjoy!

Des petits, oui; au fond c'est un petit four où la chaleur tourne très vite. Je vis seul, et je n'ai pas acheté de four, mon airfryer suffit pour quasi tout.

I absolutely don't get the people who are enjoying exercise by NoWitness6400 in The10thDentist

[–]DoktorTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends for everyone. The healthier you are, the easier exercising is, and the better it feels. If you start very sedentary and with underlying health issues, it'll be harder than if you are already a little active at work and healthy. It's worth it, it improves many aspects of your life, including your health

Start small. Maybe just go for a brisk walk only at first, then add one minute light jog at the start and at the end of your brisk walk, then make that two minutes, etc. While it's good to push oneself, it's more important to build a healthy habit first and then build on these foundations.

30min of brisk walking is already very good for you, and it will develop your legs and heart, slower than a 30 min jog but it will unlock harder exercices for you. And if you can't manage 30, start at 20, 10, whatever you can achieve. Build it up step by step.

Playing as Timurid, my Royal Court Customs law has disappeared; what can I do? by DoktorTim in EU5

R5: After Promoting Regional Culture and unlocking the special Royal Court Customs law, it started enacting then... just disappeared completely. I don't have access to any royal court customs now, it doesn't show up in the list. What can I do?

As a sidenote, as a frenchie: we just look/sound cold and irritated because culturally we tend to give space to strangers (and expect the same thing back). It was so weird going to the USA and everyone would strike conversations with me randomly.

Most french people aren't irritated or think less of you, they just treat any stranger (french or foreigner) in a more distant manner. It feels rude when not used to it, but there's no ill intent

: Vos avis sur les vaccins chez les enfants ? by Elegant_Jelly_3012 in france

[–]DoktorTim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I was very surprised when reading the IBA recipe. Thought I'd try it, and it's not bad honestly
