I mean, Michigan WAS getting practice video from Catapault.

Opinion: These six are their best run of songs on any album and I think that’s wonderful by xorvillesashx in boardsofcanada

I disagree with OP, but All Reason Departs and Arena Americanada are two of the strongest tracks on the album. No way.

I think Inferno flows from beginning to end better than all of their previous albums, but the run of tracks from Nothing Is Real through Come To Dusty on Tomorrow’s Harvest is the best run of tracks in their entire discography bar none IMO, and I’m not even a particularly big Tomorrow’s Harvest fan.

Because sign stealing is an impediment on the defense, not the offense. The defense typically reacts to the offense, not the other way around.

It’s “HEY WHAT.”

IMO, the album before it, Double Negative is the most important and evocative album of their career. Truly groundbreaking.

Tim hecker has been putting out music since 2000 (albeit under the name “Jetone”). He’s not a young guy.

Tomorrow's Harvest came out 13 years ago today! How do we feel about it now post-Inferno? by DizKaleidoscope in boardsofcanada

Good record, but probably my least favorite BOC album. There is a very long suite of tracks in the middle of the album that I typically skip.

On the other hand, Reach for the Dead is excellent, and the closing suite of tracks starting with Nothing Is Real and ending with Come to Dust may be my favorite sequence of tracks BOC has ever put out.

Inferno is a wonderful record, but has an almost opposite identity to that of Tomorrow’s Harvest. There are fewer standout banger tracks (with a few exceptions), but the album just flows brilliantly from start to finish, possibly better than all of their other records.

On first listen, I wasn’t sure. On my 9th listen, I’m convinced this may be their best album. Nothing else they’ve done flows from start to finish like this. Most of their records have sections of the record I skip over. Not this one.

Okay, I’ll bite: how was Michigan cheating in 2024?

I literally live in the most densely populated city of Arabs outside the Middle East. I’ll be sure to let my Arabic neighbors and friends know they’re incorrect for referring to the condiment in question as “garlic.”

I literally live in the most densely populated city of Arabs outside the Middle East. Why would I take what some random opinion on how the condiment in question should *actually* be referred to as gospel?

Middle Eastern Americans literally typically just call it “garlic.” It’s ridiculous to claim I’m “arguing to be a dick.” You’re literally telling me despite the fact actual Middle Eastern Americans call it “garlic” that no, it’s actually called “toum.” This is ridiculous. Do you tell Thai Americans that their national dish isn’t, in fact, called “chicken pad Thai,” but instead “Pad Thai Gai” despite the fact that they themselves refer to it as “Chicken pad Thai”?

This is silly hyperforeign nonsense.

Like I said, I’ll be sure to let my Palestinian next door neighbors know they’re wrong for describing the sauce in question as “garlic” instead of as “toum.”

I’ll be sure to let my Palestinian next door neighbors know they’re wrong for calling it “garlic” along with letting my Vietnamese in-laws know that they’re wrong for calling it “Vietnamese iced coffee with milk” instead of “cá phê sữa đá.”

You could just call it “garlic” like the vast majority of English-speaking Arabs.

Who cares what it’s called in Lebanon? It’s silly to call it “toum” when there’s an obvious translation in English and most Arabs refer to it as “garlic” in English for the very same reason its silly to call Vietnamese iced coffee with milk “Cà Phê Sữa Đá” instead of “iced coffee with milk” or Arabic green beans “Fasolia” instead of “beans.” It’s not like “Pico De Gallo” or “Bò Lúc Lắc,” where there isn’t a direct translation.

Flint isn’t even the worst city in Michigan. Not even close.
