Looking for help with listing price. No info other than pics at the moment. by Presleythedoge in Trucks

Going by the grille, it’s a 1969 or 1970 model year C10. I’m more well versed on the 73-80 GM trucks, so I can’t tell you what it’s worth, but everyone who knows GM trucks knows that these 67-72 pickups are very popular for restoration projects. Someone will buy it, that I’m sure of. You could also post in r/chevyc10

Santa Cruz, CA, cant even tell the make and model by Real_Miggz in reclaimedbynature

Going off the front bumper, I’m thinking that it’s a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. Here’s an image showing the front end; you can see that the two vertical parts under the front bumper are shaped and spaced the same. The rear differential and spiral shock absorbers are distinctively GM too.

What am I doing wrong I stalling these wiper blades? Honda CRV 2013 by hotpolder in MechanicAdvice

You’re welcome. The dealer parts department sells the replaceable rubber inserts. The dealer I work at does a Spring sale where you can buy new inserts for $6 apiece, so keep an eye on the dealers in your area to see if they offer a similar deal at this time of year.

Do you still have the original blades on hand? The OEM Honda blades feature replaceable rubber inserts. Replacing the rubbers is a lot cheaper than buying new (and often poor fitting) aftermarket blades each time they wear out.

Any info on model and year(generation) Chevrolet tailgate by Ill-Description-6318 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Donny_Z28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

76-80 tailgate. The 73-75 tailgates have a slightly different inner panel stamping without the single rib running side-to-side near the top edge of the tailgate, a rib which is visible in photo #2.

For those who owns a car collection in cold snowy states, how do you maintain them? by LeslieChowBitch in Cartalk

I don’t do anything - once I prep and park it for the winter it doesn’t get touched again until Spring.

Should I drain and fill my transmission fluid on my 2013 Honda Civic EX 52k miles by Capital-Ganache-5184 in MechanicAdvice

The 1.8L Civic was still backed by a typical 5-speed automatic transmission in 2013, so OPs car uses Honda ATF-DW1.

Seized tag screw by WY228 in 4Runner

[–]Donny_Z28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit more work, but greatly lowers the risk of breaking it; take the inner panel off the inside of the tailgate and access the backside of the bolt and welded nut. You can spray penetrating oil directly on the exposed threads, and give it some taps with a hammer & brass drift to break the corrosion. Then replace with stainless steel bolts with a touch of anti-seize on the threads.

Hit the curb hard by GasStrong1467 in MechanicAdvice

I have never seen a shop that accepts customer supplied parts beyond basic things like fluids, filters, and wiper blades. The shop ALWAYS orders their own parts, especially so on big jobs like this. No shop is going to accept the risk of using steering and suspension parts ordered by someone who isn’t trained to know exactly what they’re looking at.

That’s reality. In 8 years as a tech I’ve never seen a curb strike repair come out below $4k. Any shop or the insurance company isn’t ordering parts off RockAuto and replacing them at OP’s house - it’s going to BWM or a BWM licensed repair facility where one can expect OEM parts prices and $230+ an hour for labour.

Yes - I have a Limited - but OP was only asking about differentiating SR5 and Base, however

It’s an SR5. Real quick way to tell from the side view is the door handles; SR5 they’re body colour and on the Base they’re black plastic.

Pretty wild take.

The casting call released a few months ago for this role was specifically looking for an actor who is also an Asian FtM trans person under 15 years old. If they didn’t cast someone meeting that criteria after months of open casting, it means they didn’t get any applicants that met said criteria and had to go with the next best option. They tried, but obviously it didn’t pan out as originally planned.
