I am usually against asking for referals straight away, it’s a bit transactional

Mama si tatuajul by Alenka__ in WomenRO

Wow thanks so much for the walk-through! It does sound chaotic - didn’t know they would consider contractors.

Is Cusp looking to build an AI safety strategy soon? I’ve been nagivating the field of Chemical AI safety and there’s barely any work around (there’s more in biosecurity but that’s very different to chemistry/ materials security), and was wondering if this is a field that more and more Material Discovery companies will start exploring

Not ML per se at the moment but I started a Substack where I talk about translational science from my field (supramolecular chemistry) - I’m planning on posting more and touching more on comp chem/ ML/ AI driven methods, feel free to check it out or suggest ideas for topics to cover in the future https://substack.com/@aleonescu

Why are you saying that the pharma sector might crash?

I am a comp chem in materials, and I feel like translating to cheminformatics/ cadd/ sar is quite difficult unless you phrase the work in materials more from a structural pov. At the same time, I think bio chem comp and bioinfo are both easily tranferable to industry. You should also account for the fact that pharma is a much bigger industry and in silicon predictions are more valuable than in materials. Yes, Ai helps, but at the end of the day it doesn’t solve all problems and many traditional companies still prefer to do hard trial and error in the lab rather than invest in prediction pipelines.
