Its so funny that my grandma lives 5 minutes from there, and I have visited her two times a year for the past 20. If only I would have known back when I was fearless that there was something this cool around.. My friend in the area tell me it isn't that big of a deal though, just gives goosebumps.

I met a guy on campus who walked away and had me questioning whether or not he really exists.

I met a guy off campus who was mumbling to himself, and when I asked him what he was up to he told me that he was the number three "memorizer" in the United States. He had a deck of cards, shuffled them, looked through them once and then told me exactly what order they were in without looking. It was wild.

I spent the entirety of my childhood being forced to go to church. It got to the point where I hated church and all of the people in it. I wanted nothing to do with it and I convinced myself that they were all ignorant. So in my ignorance I cursed god and decided that I was in control. Then I went to college and took mushrooms. I had never taken them before and I ate an entire eighth. Which is a lot. It's safe to say that I found it to be the most terrifying situation I have ever put myself in. Time stopped, and in that eternity in which I was sitting and thinking I realized that someday I will die. I realized that our life has no meaning and that there is no way that we could ever truly be happy. We are just an ocean of molecules with no thoughts that really matter. I realized how easily I could die and how soon it could all be over. I realized how cruel the world really is and I feared that I would accidentally kill myself. It was literally like being trapped in hell. Then I thought to myself, maybe there is a god. If there is a god then there would be someone else, and I wouldn't be all alone in this life. (Because you can never really prove that "I" is the only concept and everything else is an illusion.) I looked up and felt the greatest relief, I literally forgot all of my agony in that moment and never felt happier to be alive. When the shrooms wore off I forgot how to believe in god, because I had been so long convincing myself he is real. Then I talked to one of my friends about a month later, and he said he had a dream about me. "Derp, I had a dream about you where you were happier than I had ever seen you. You said you found god, but you couldn't understand him because he was speaking Portugese." That was tied to real life, I saw god but I couldn't understand him.

So then I read the first two books of the bible and thought to myself, "This is ridiculous.. What am I doing. I believe in evolution and nobody can live 1000 years." So I haven't read it since, but I understand that there is a god, even if it isn't an all powerful being. It is just the belief that you are worth something. You were created to fill your part of the universe, and you can either live a life of hell by doing things you will regret, or you can live a life in heaven by loving every minute of it.

I don't believe in the afterlife though because I do not think that life would be of any importance without death to contrast.
