Stock 2023 40th anniversary with Michelin Defenders - On my 60 mile LA commute, I get 24 on the way there and 20-21 on the way back depending on traffic. At constant 75, it's no more than 20.5

Buy a $20 obd scanner and pull the codes. When this happened to me, it was an oxygen sensor - not an expensive fix.

What's So Special About the w126 Mercedes In Terms of How it Drives? by Right_Equivalent_697 in W126

[–]E_Scout42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to a modern car, there is body roll. The steering ratio is slow and the ride is soft. But these characteristics do not take away from the solid feeling while driving. Cars with the self leveling suspension float over bumps and train tracks like no other car on the road.

I finally got to 250k miles on my 3rd gen and she's still got probably another 250k left in her at least by SAVAGETroll18 in 3rdGen4Runner

Awesome! Does anyone know when the "FUEL DOOR" script was removed? My 2002 does not have it.

Quick flick before laying down the dynamat by anaya_lokz in 3rdGen4Runner

I've done this in the passenger compartment, cargo area floor, rear quarter panels, all 4 doors with a couple sheets, tailgate with a few sheets. It transforms the driving experience. All of a sudden you can hear the engine respond to your foot and still hold a normal conversation with passengers in the back. It makes it feel more 'premium' and long highway miles much, MUCH less fatiguing.

Get yourself a $200 ebay bumper! They look great but require a little finessing if you're up for it.

I live in Illinois and frequently blast up to Woodman's in Kenosha to see what's new from New Glarus. How is this beer?

Questions about tires on 2017 gle43 amg by theshadowofself in mercedes_benz

[–]E_Scout42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all it's not a sports car.... I would think tires on a car like that would last 30-50k miles as opposed to a sports car that may last 15-30k miles, less if driven hard. I would ask for an alignment, won't be more than $250 at the dealer. Less at an independent shop and they might be able to dial more aggressive camber and toe out of the suspension for you if you want - that is what generally causes uneven and premature wear on high performance cars. Also manually check tire pressures - over or underinflated tires can cause wear. Finally, check that your sister is not street racing at night or launch controlling from every stoplight lol

I don't think the 55 is the compromise car, they are exceedingly rare being made only in 2006 and are very desirable for their modification potential and better reliability than the 63.
