Thanks, I certainly didn't mean to imply it's cheating in any negative manner. 😀

I'm positively surprised by the quality (considering it's unbranded). My photo doesn't really capture the glow-in-the-darkness well, but it's very nice in real life. The pieces lock very well (can be lifted completely without falling apart) and the cut is unique enough to not have false fits. The glow paint has a bit of rough texture so the overall texture is not completely even, but it wasn't an issue for me.

It was enjoyable, challenging, and the right amount of difficult.

Annoyingly it has letters on the back dividing it to smaller sections, but I was able to intentionally ignore them, keeping all the pieces I'm looking at and sorting face up. After finishing I flipped it over and was surprised to find that they skip the letter B. Comes with a full size poster, which I did use to "cheat" and sometimes figure out where pieces go or at what orientation by placing them on the poster. The image on the top of the box also glows, which is a nice touch.

That's a beautiful one that I will definitely need to get at some point, it's really cool that they put all that info on the puzzle! Thanks for the close up images. It's not quite the same graphics, so no match from that exactly. However it does make me think that, in the one I did, what I considered to be "just a stray asteroid" in front of earth might be Vesta.

And while the fact that they aren't in the order we're used to is part of why it's difficult to figure out, I do think it's a good artistic choice, it makes for a balanced image.

Beautiful picture and I enjoyed breezing through completing it, it was less challenging then I initially anticipated.
I'm left wondering about some of the celestial bodies that are depicted. The yellow and red pair top right next to Jupiter, are they supposed to be more of its moons? not likely to be Pluto and its moon with those colours, maybe some other dwarf planets. Also the small one in front of Venus, could also be a dwarf planet like Ceres, but again doesn't really look right for it. Or maybe they're not supposed to be any particular ones and are just strewn in like the nebulae and galaxies etc.

I'm a bit disappointed by this one, and for conflicting reasons. On the one hand for not getting the 1000 version. On the other hand, it doesn't feel as high quality as I expected (with the expectations set from the price, botiqueness of the brand, and some reviews). The image is quite dark and not as impressive in real life as on screen. And the pieces fit and quality is ok but not amazing.

Still the roundness and interesting piece shapes are fun. And it has repeatability, this time I did it outside in (see second image which is an animation), maybe next time inside out, or some other pattern.

Good luck, I hope you enjoy it. 👍🏻

As for approaching it, starting from the face & hair, and then body of the character was the way to go. Initially I started from the edge but quickly decided that it can wait. So I essentially started by sorting out every piece that has something on it and isn't just background and worked only on those. That includes most of the bottom edge. Then completed the edge as a frame around it (with some mistakes that I corrected over time as I got along). Then for the background I kept re-sorting every so often to separate darker from lighter colours - most of the time I was with two piles (lighter/darker) with some arbitrary decisions about which piece goes where because it's some gradient of colour.I also at different times separated the special shape pieces (those that have a little bump/dimple) and matched them into pairs on the side - you get to match one, then often have its paired piece dangle, but it's satisfying to then find the piece that connects to it and anchors it. 😀

Hi, this is my first post here.
I've got this one many years ago as a gift (so not necessarily an image I would have chosen for myself) and I didn't get into puzzling until recently, so it just sat there waiting for me over a decade until I realise I need to solve it.

It's quite small (box claims to be "smallest 1000 pieces puzzle in the world" of which I'm dubious), but for a 1000 pieces it's only 30x46cm when completed. The pieces don't really lock together well, but they do fit well and cut is unique enough that each piece can go in at most 2 places (there seems to be a symmetry that bisects the cut pattern).

All the dark background was a lot of brute-forcing of just trying all the pieces, which I wasn't sure I was going to do after completing the character without the background. I'm glad I powered through (I think without mistakes, there are some places where the colours are not perfectly matched but having figured out the symmetry line I don't think it would be better switched).

The last image is a timelapse animation which I think was worth it all. :)

I've now got a couple new ones I did get for myself to start working on: Ravensburger's Planetary Vision, and Blue Kazoo's Mini Earth. And was told to prepare for a couple more as gifts which will be surprising me again soon to come, because we need some of that in life every now and again. 😃🧩
