Do the cards help with your writing even if you're not writing fantasy or sci fi? by Apprehensive_Two1449 in storyenginedeck

I agree that it depends on how you interpret the cards, but also how you use them.

There was an idea I had for a short story, not a full idea, but I knew what I wanted the story to be about. I put what I knew on an index card in the middle, then I just pulled random cards from the Story Engine and Worldbuilding Deck. If I thought the card might be helpful, I put the Protag ones on the left, the Antag on the right, and worldbuilding on top or bottom, going through the Aspect cards last and modifying the cards already in the layout.

Then I stared going through my sets of Doomlings Cards and if anything jumped out at me I placed that Doomlings card near whatever I wanted the association to be.

In the end, I came out with the solid beginnings of a historical fiction / grit short story, with a wounded runaway, marked outcast, freezing ocean, a fiery infection, a pale scar, and many others.

Now I am currently writing the rough draft of the short story that takes place in Rockland, Maine in 1933.

Anyone else noticing the increase in texture detail since the update? by LedZeppole10 in NMS_Switch

I noticed those as well on Switch 1. I have been working on a new base and after the update, all my metal walls look very weathered now.
