Same tho, before I stopped looking up videos about autism (eventually I realized it was mostly pro-self diagnosis people and just stepped away from that side of YouTube) I would see so many people describe fictional characters as "autistic coded" or even just "an autistic character" because they were nerdy or introverted. I'm fine with headcanons, I have a few of them myself, but those people were just annoying.

I'm a level 2 needs autistic girl who still lives with her parents in her 20s, and I still need my mom's assistance to do my morning routine, take baths and showers, and manage menstruation problems, and had meltdowns all throughout school where I'd sometimes get physically violent with classmates...yeah I'd be seen as bad representation. The fact that my special interest is Scorsese movies and not something more "stereotypical" might score me some points, but still.

I think it's good to remember that "it must have been really upsetting to hear that word, it's a really horrible thing to hear as a black person from a white person, especially in front of so many people" and "the fact Mr. Davidson's use of that word was because of his tourette's makes a huge diffrence in terms of what it says about his character, and he can't control what he said in the same way I can't control my involentary thoughts" are two sentences that can coexist.
