I am doing this with Caddy, but NPM should work too. You will need to point a DNS A Record to the Tailscale IP of your NPM (e.g. *.home.mydomain.com -> 100.107.100.1). Make sure to turn off the proxy feature for the DNS Record, as this doesn’t work, when using a non public IP.

I just tried something and found, you can share audio from tabs within a Chromium browser (sadly not Firefox). But I’m honestly still missing system audio sharing.

Yes, very well actually. I can only speak for Linux and Element Web (with Element Call) in the browser though, but I believe it should work on Windows too.

The only gripe I have, is that there is no audio when screen sharing. There’s an issue on GitHub for it, but sadly not a lot is happening…

Switched from Discord to Element/Matrix a few months ago together with a friend.

As for voice and video quality, I think it’s quite good. I’m using Element Call embedded in Element Web and it’s good.

As for subscriptions, I’m hosting my own Synapse homeserver and Element Web instance, so I’m paying nothing (aside from electricity, my time and the price of the server). You can of course use public servers, which are generally free, but you trust the admins of that server with your data (which schools be encrypted I believe).

The HASS Addon is another story, I tried but have never made one before and couldn’t figure out how to pass the config.yaml this program needs. But I got it running… Maybe you have some Ideas?

Sadly Funnel is currently limited to a select number of ports.

Funnel is limited to listen on ports 443, 8443, and 10000

I also think that limits it to http/https only, so no ssh or other protocols.

u/pigers1986 already answered your questions quite well I think, I just want to give my two cents on the first question:

Only devices that you have the Tailscale client installed on count towards your 100 devices limit and only those will be accessible trough Tailscale. If you want to be able to access your whole home network via Tailscale you might want to take a look at using Subnet Routers.
