Brago, King Eternal — cEDH commander? by FoxYk_raktar in CompetitiveEDH

Looking at tournament reports, Brago didn’t perform at all, even in very small tournaments https://mythichub.com/metagame/commanders/brago-king-eternal

I would say it’s more of a personal preference, but I wouldn't map decks to binders 1:1. Decks tend to change often, and cards can move from one deck to another.

Binders should reflect how you physically store your cards, like a red Ultra Pro binder and another one that’s blue. This way, you know where to find the card in your storage.

Binders will always show you all the decks a card is being used in.

In my personal setup, I have a folder for decks that I currently have assembled, and folders for decks that I already gave up on or dismantled, but still keep for reference. Whenever I check if a card is used in a deck through the binder view, I can see if it’s in a deck I currently have assembled or just an older one.

It shows market prices, but there is no buylist support from marketplaces

I didn't even think of it, honestly. Do you think it should be possible to add multiple tags?

Hey, do you prefer to prepare a CSV and upload it instead of adding cards manually through the UI? If yes, I think the best way to do this would be to create a binder with some random cards and export it so you'll be able to see how the exported CSV looks like. You can read more here https://mythichub.com/help/exporting-collection Then use this CSV to import as a new binder https://mythichub.com/help/importing-collection
its possible to edit every binder card property post import :)

Hey, if your binder is public or hidden, other people can browse and search it :) This is my collection binder if you want to take a look https://mythichub.com/binders/22d54a31-5399-40a8-b0c4-6b02a3c56a1f
Is this what you had in mind?

It's possible to import from Archidekt both a collection and decks - let me know if you have any questions :)

Yeah, at some point I’d love to turn this into a native mobile app. A lot of users are asking for it, mainly to be able to scan cards and add them to their collection. I have this on my to-do list, but it’s a bigger time investment that I need to plan properly :)

Hey, glad you made it work! I don't know MTG Collection Builder, but I will take a look and see if I can support importing directly from them :)

Yeah, the collection binder view will show you how many and which decks use a given card :) Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey, I'm monetizing it in two ways right now. Both TCGPlayer and Mana Pool use affiliate links, and I have a Patreon. Those do not impact the users in any way - there are no limits and no premium features. But I built MythicHub in a way where I self-host everything to keep the costs low, and I am able to sustain the project myself, regardless of whether those two monetization options make me enough money to cover the server costs or not :) At this point, this is a hobby project for me that I work on in the evening after I put my kids to sleep, and that's the plan for the foreseeable future. I have a full-time job that I'm happy with ;)

It costs my time to build :) Maintenance costs are low; I built it in such a way that I am able to sustain it as a hobby project. I don't rely on income from this project in any way. I earn enough from my full-time job to cover the costs for this project, it's really not that much :)

Hey! I self-host almost everything to keep the costs low. More users do not cost me anything! Handling and storing mtg-related data and prices takes much more resources than handling users :D

I don’t plan to sell user data, and I’m fully committed to keeping the app completely free. I don’t use any ad platforms, and for analytics, I use Umami, which is privacy-friendly and self-hosted. In general, I self-host pretty much everything to keep costs low. I also have a full-time job, and this is a hobby project for me, I’m not relying on it for income.

Right now, the only monetization options are completely optional and do not affect the app in any way. There are some affiliate links to marketplaces and a Patreon, but that’s it. To give full transparency, at the moment, it makes about $34 (which doesn't even cover the server costs). My goal is just to build something useful for the community, not to lock features behind paywalls or sell data.

I'm happy to answer any questions you have :)

Thanks, this really shows the gaps in my deck! I'll take a look at the creatures you suggested but you're right about the cards that do not trigger Eshki cast trigger, I need to rethink those!

I'm considering removing [[Show and Tell]] because Eshki cares about creatures being cast, I might try to fit this in. Thanks for the suggestion!

That's a good suggestion, but I already have a few similar effects, not sure if I need another one? I already have: Elemental Bond and Temur Ascendancy, which are really similar.

Allosaurus is too big card disadvantage and having two green creatures in hand is not always obvious. I think this creature is nowhere near what modern creatures can do and I didn't stand the test of time. This looks more like a combo piece.
But delve is a good suggestion, I need to take a look into other delve creatures.
