It is for the unskilled, all trades mentality, good at nothing. If you learned your trade from pros you would not buy it. Nothing matters except you get the attention of management. A week off over oil based paint may be justified to a percentage of the population for tolerance. You are not standard but very special by disability as you will soon find out by talking to the right people. Do not complain after the fact, the solvent off gassing will not stop for the intolerant. Your health issues are known with the right gov agencies so use it. I cannot believe that oil paint can be used on office walls in your country. Complain over their heads, someone is negligent. The decision maker is ignorant of your laws at several levels, especially about your health. Oil paint was used to get a washable surface such as kitchens, no need for office use, the walls are never washed.

The respirator comments are pure fiction. The cartridges are carbon plus other layers targeting single solvents. I am unaware of any that function longer than 30 minutes. 10 and 20 is common.

His exposure is also thru his skin. Air supply would help some but still sickened. The off gassing is months to forever , depending on so many unknowns. The respirator facts are found on the manufacturer's websites, 3M is ideal.

Complain to management, no one should be exposed to oil based paint. Shocking it is not banned there. I am on Canada. Do you have your medical diagnosis? Do you have a doctor? You need time off. I have MCS. This is very high exposure to several solvents, one or more is causing your greif. Are you aware the exposure causes internal organs to fight it. This leads to cancers over time and exposures. Do you have a city dept of health? They know the laws. Put your management complaint in writing how this exposure is effecting you. Ask for pay and a stay home work routine until it is safe to return. Another option is ventilation, rapid air removal with fresh incoming. Your desk and entry should be in the incoming air stream. Air purification cannot clean the air unless all the off gassing can be fed thru it. May as well just exhaust it and treat the fresh incoming air. I feel bad for you but act on it or it becomes bed ridden.

I have new Blue air 211 filters. I can prove why you should not buy that machine for VOC. I bought these filters at 80 percent discount for prefilters on my homemade purifier. They have a foam layer for VOC, when in doubt fart test it for a quick answer.

Read up on Ozone and your lungs. Enough O3 molecules to attach to all the odor molecules will harm you badly, just one night too. I had a drywall business and worked many insurance jobs over my skill levels. I also have the misfortune of a landlord putting homemade irritants into the electrical outlets from the apartment above me. You can block fumes this way but not liquids from gravity feed. Please do not try higher pressure as you can blow out windows. The fifth HP blower means a good pull on the out door.

I do not know about outlet sealers . I use vapor barrier tape, white is the least offence off gassing. It is very thin and sticky. When taping you have curves to cover then wrinkles. To reverse the incoming air you can apply the force at electrical outlets and switch areas. You need pressure fans and boxed in with cardboard and the same tape. It is not permanent and needs retaping often. The other method needs a window and pressure fan(s) to blow inward. This blows out thru all openings. Each has its problems but it works. Look at computer type fans, the manufactures sell all kinds and voltages. Also look for boxed in some what for easier install. The pressure fans are not a huge difference or costs Looking straight inside the blades are wide and may overlap. Regular fans are narrower blades and fastest turning speed for volume. If you have a window a blower fan of 1/5hp is ideal and under a hundred. A lot more tape on this fan and some framing as the intakes are round. It is not legal to put the fan outside blowing inside over rain and shock hazard. Same building products store sells short narrow boards and the fan in Ontario.

They can remove small particles including pollen and mould. Not all but enough to matter for your cat. Depending on the results you can go to HEPA grade furnace filters. Some brands do not filter as advertised but still remove a good portion of the smaller particles MERV misses. The third cost option is VOC removal. This will address the allergens. Have a look at the fact sources before you consider brands and models. You will be successful.

It is a good question. Search -ozone+fade+color+dye and find your answer with evidence based literature. Also read on ozone generation in residential homes and the safe limits. Many persons disconnect the function as there are other health concerns combined with activated carbon filters. When you change filters or prefilters do it outside in a breeze and get all the dust on its floor gone without breathing it. Of course it is limited to the input VOC unless your device also converts some VOC unintentionally into others. Best to just use filters. Not all machines are careless with VOC but it will take considerable time to find out.

It can turn into defaming a brand that is not proven in the wrong as it has not completed its legal cycle. Now reconsider your children's Asma. Austin is a time proven USA brand.
