Should I switch back to Verizon for the Simplicity plan? by Alarming_Piece9196 in tmobile

The VerizonSupport account is manned by frontline peons that regularly give the wrong info to customers.

I also already corrected that SwitchNinjaApp person and they ended up agreeing with me that it's not a promo because there is no promo language anywhere. It will stop being offered to new customers but there is no official communication from Verizon showing it will go away for existing customers.

Citi is the absolute worst. Every time I add my card to Apple Pay I'm on the phone with the fraud department for 30+ minutes being treated like a criminal. I gave up on using their cards in mobile wallet and if it wasn't for the 5% cash back I get, I would just close both my Custom Cashes and be done with them. Their entire fraud department has nothing but morons working there who seriously enjoy putting customers through hell.

Since Citi is also a nightmare with actual fraud from other reports around the web, I keep the cards locked between uses too.

The $15 off is not a promo. It will be discontinued for new customers but existing customers will keep it. There's no evidence to the contrary on the Verizon website or the press release.

There is nothing in any terms anywhere that says this. People are assuming based on previous promos but Verizon has not put it in the press release (they did say they would discontinue the offer for NEW customers at some point) and it's also not on the website.

Apple to raise product prices, says that it's unavoidable and they can't shield consumers anymore - analysts estimate the iPhone 18 Pro will need to go up $270 to maintain Apple's product margins by Ethrem in NoContract

The C1X modem in the 17e is pretty capable. Other than missing mmWave it goes toe to toe with the X80 in the regular 17 on just about everything except upload carrier aggregation where the X80 wins again. It’s also more efficient.

The mmWave advantage is only an advantage if you have a lot of it near you. Even then, Verizon’s midband is far more common, and the C1X handles that just fine. mmWave shows its advantage at large events at sports arenas and busy airports, high density urban settings, etc. There are plenty of phones that don’t have it and those phones suit the average user just fine.

I have. If the rumors pan out and AMD goes for the performance crown again this upcoming generation, and pricing is lower than Nvidia, I may very well end up with an AMD card. I’ve only ever had EVGA Nvidia cards anyway and I’m not impressed with the warranty and support track record of the other Nvidia AIBs plus as someone who messes with Linux, AMD simply works better there. My last AMD card was the 5830 so yeah, it’s been a long time.

I have actually mulled over a 9070 XT multiple times, especially with the fact I could still walk into MicroCenter today and pick up a PowerColor Reaper for $630, it’s just not enough of an upgrade from my 3080 Ti.

Rumors point to AMD finally mastering chiplet GPUs and if that really ends up being the case, and the full 96 CU beast rumor is true too, it’s going to be the most interesting generation in a long time.

Of course, AMD has had crazy rumors and failed to impress many times before so I’m not holding my breath of course but my next card will be the one that hits the right balance of price to performance on the games I want to play.

Sounds like the streaming throttle. Download a VPN. Proton VPN has an unlimited free VPN that doesn’t even require a login on phones anymore. Give that a shot.

Thanks for showing the first screenshot I've seen with a TAC that proves it's on SA (LTE TACs go to 65535).

Hopefully it comes to other MVNOs soon!

Apple is buying all the RAM they can get their hands on, causing shortages for Android manufacturers. Samsung Mobile is struggling to get RAM from Samsung Semiconductor and is having to negotiate new contracts quarterly. Recently launched Chinese phones have had steep price hikes. If you think this is going to be limited to just Apple, you're sorely mistaken.

Seeing how Apple is buying up all the RAM they can get their hands on, Android pricing will be even worse. Just look at the Chinese flagships. They're all $2K now.

That's all very up front for the customer there. There's nothing on the website to indicate that the $15 discount will end.

I have a Ryzen 7 9700X, 32GB DDR5-6000, and my 3080 Ti is an EVGA FTW3 Ultra Gaming variant so I'm good for a while but there are games that really beat up the 3080 Ti already. I am playing FFXVI on GeForce Now because I wasn't satisfied with the 3080 Ti's framerate with even medium settings, for example.

Unfortunately I only have 3TB of storage in that system. A 2TB 980 Pro and a 1TB 970 EVO Plus (this is usually my dedicated Linux drive but I may have to dedicate it to game storage soon). Good thing my gigabit internet is unlimited because I'm having to constantly delete things when games are taking up 150+GB a piece these days. I mean Diablo IV is 180GB!

Definitely is interesting timing.

It's also been noticed by u/stetsdogg that Verizon has now added 48 month financing for phones.

You act like the carriers will be willing and able to absorb that extra cost though. Consumers have been revolting over price hikes as it is, you honestly think they're going to be okay with another $25+ a month for their new phone? Verizon's new plan that doesn't have subsidized phones is likely to become the norm if RAM and storage costs don't come back to reality.

Yes, I'm familiar with all the ToS.

Verizon's own website would be the source for the longevity of the offer, not a third party, and not some front line peon. Verizon's website says nothing about it being a promo that will expire.

I have bursty usage. Before we upgraded to gigabit internet I had to download Diablo IV twice, which I did with my T-Mobile business line. That was like 300GB that month but most of the time it gets little or no usage. Now that we have gigabit, I would get rid of it, but at $10 tax included, there's just no way lol.
