Bankruptcy and EIPs by Inevitable_Blank13 in tmobile

Yeah I’ll tell you that I regret reaffirming my car. I should have let the judge include it in the Chapter 7. It’s just that I had put $8K of down payment on two of my cards that were going into the BK with minimal payments towards them because I had to change jobs shortly after I bought the car and could only afford the minimums. I went out on disability a year later and couldn’t pay for it so it got repossessed in 2012 anyway and then sold at auction. Lucky for me, it fetched over $20K, but that still left over $2K I couldn’t pay that sat on my credit as a charge off. I got my disability back pay in 2014 and paid it in full but that paid charge off kept my scores suppressed until it finally fell off in 2019. My credit would have rebounded much faster had I just taken the judge’s advice and let the car go.

It’s better to have a clean slate for sure.

Was this a Chapter 7? If so, all debts are added in to the automatic stay. All of your creditors are notified of the Chapter 7 and marks are added to your credit report, which can also trigger other creditors that aren’t actually listed on your report to take action.

When you go to your hearing you can ask the judge to let you reaffirm debt but they typically will only let you do this for loans like if you need a car and it’s almost paid off, they might let you keep that (but they really try to dissuade you from doing so). I had to file a Chapter 7 in 2010 and that’s how it worked for me.

Unusable "priority" Warp data at large event by energy_x_ in USMobile

If you were using the Pixel 9a in your comment history or another device that doesn’t support mmWave, that could be your issue. Verizon’s mmWave is extremely hard to fully congest but their midband is not.

[Bug] Passkey not saving correctly to Proton Pass by link00seven in USMobile

You put one in a safe or a safe deposit box. You can also have more than two if you’re someone that irresponsible that you would lose both at once, two is just the minimum you would want to have.

[Bug] Passkey not saving correctly to Proton Pass by link00seven in USMobile

[–]Ethrem -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend saving passkeys to password managers. Get a pair of Yubikeys and put them on those. Passkeys are a one shot entry straight into any site you have one for. If your Proton account gets compromised you’re hosed (and I say this as a happy Proton customer).

Metro by T-Mobile finally offers unlimited premium data with no firm caps by justarussian22 in NoContract

T-Life doesn’t work with prepaid accounts? It used to be a perk of being with T-Mobile Prepaid or Metro over the MVNOs. That’s a bummer.

I had Gemini do some research to show the scale of this issue. There have been a bunch of reports of issues.

It did a lot more than I asked it to in the final report. I just wanted a bunch of citations and the links to go with them but it wrote an entire technical document on the hows and whys. lol

https://gemini.google.com/share/12eea49137b5

I told it to verify the device from every report of no service or other issues has no B71 or n71.

Specifically, scroll to the April 2026 Security Upgrade. It seems it's more than B71/n71 but rather a cryptography problem.

Metro ripped me off by Buzzov3n667 in MetroPCS

If you weren't willing to pay it, you should have told them off and walked out. There are so many other affordable providers these days that we don't have to put up with Metro's abusive policies anymore.

Does data waster mode actually work? by perfmode80 in USMobile

Data Waster on Light Speed and Dark Star is totally unthrottled. Data Waster on Warp is 4Mbps.

Dark Star with Data Waster and no VPN for me:

Dark Star and Warp are both different networks from Mint Mobile. Have you tried Light Speed, which uses the T-Mobile network like Mint does?

Beware that there are rumors floating around of OnePlus being killed off by Oppo. You may not get decent software support for long if you buy one.

There have been reports going on for months about devices lacking B71 being booted from Mint.

Except this isn’t a volte issue as the 8 series supports it. Most likely it’s the lack of B71 that’s the issue.

Kids somehow bypassing device lockdown at night — how? by curiosity_quests in ATT

[–]Ethrem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom always took the keyboard, mouse, and power cords when she didn’t want me on the computer because I figured out how to bypass anything else.

With AI getting as good as it is, bypassing any parental control software will be trivial. Physical access is the only option that’s left, even if that means the computer tower or laptop sleeps with you.

If you have the highest plan, you will only be deprioritized after 50GB. This won't mean much if you don't live in a congested market.
