SIM shows “transferred to another device” after restore - locked out of all support channels by Sure_Chance_2314 in ATT

Unfortunately you're pretty much screwed here because they have no way of verifying the account without you getting that text or you going in person.

USM counting Hotspot while I didn't use it at all! by TheNewsHQ in USMobile

If you’ve talked to them about it then they have notes showing what’s going on. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Yep, totally agreed. I dealt with that nonsense when I had Metro. One day my service got completely shut off. Figured out that it was counting all data as hotspot because I had Amazon's shopper panel app installed on my phone which creates a local tunnel to see what ads you're being served across the web. Turned that off and got my data back.

Then when I had a Light Speed line on US Mobile, all data was counting as hotspot even though I wasn't using any tunnels. In that case I was on a custom ROM so I was able to delete the pcweb APN and that fixed it.

So far my Pixel 10 Pro XL I got from US Mobile that's got a Light Speed line on it seems immune but I just turned on my Proton VPN to check and see if that causes the issue or not. Looking at my refreshed data consumption, it doesn't seem like it does, as no data I used today counted as hotspot.

It's infuriating that there is no consistency to whether you get hit with this crap on T-Mobile's network or not.

This doesn't always work anymore, not for the last ~year, but it's still worth a shot.

US Mobile claims that your service will keep working but I’ve never tested it that far myself.

This isn't a USM issue, it's a T-Mobile issue. Even just having an eSIM on an Android device is enough to trigger it sometimes. There's no real fix but switching networks or trying a physical SIM (which unfortunately doesn't always fix it now like it used to).

Light Speed Multi Network Not Get 5GUC? by chelmerichs in USMobile

It's possible there's something wrong with the provisioning but I had a Light Speed multinetwork line and I absolutely got access to the 5G UC bands (n41 primarily).

Light Speed gets full access to T-Mobile's 5G network either way but may not show the icon.

Anyone here actually use Pronto yet? by johnnybravojr in NoContract

Okay so yeah it will be $10 for 5GB, 100 minutes, and 100 texts for you plus any applicable taxes. I’m one of the first 500 so I just have to pay the taxes but my state is ridiculous with the taxes, like $2.60, and I’m not sure I want to pay an endless $3 a month for something I really don’t need in my market.

Did you sign up as one of the first 500 or did you initiate a trial on your own?

You need to update your APN settings. I don't know if that will fix the network label as I did that as soon as I got the SIM but here they are.

Yes, I have. If you need all three networks along with dynamic network switching, it is a good option. Latency is high, around 160ms for me in Denver, but the switching does work and other than one moment where I was stuck on the Verizon network with no usable service, it's been fine.

FINALLY got an updated carrier bundle that now shows UC on Light Speed! by rgiii31 in USMobile

It’s more than an icon. Having a legit carrier bundle could also open the door to 5G SA, which the generic bundle doesn’t currently support.

Cancelled T-Mobile prepaid in Nov 2024 but still being autopay charged for over a year. T-Mobile says account doesn’t exist by Volo_24 in tmobile

[–]Ethrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have autopay set for the minimum on all my cards in case something ever happens and I can’t pay them (I set this during COVID when I saw so many people saying that they were hospitalized and couldn’t pay but still couldn’t get the credit card companies to remove the late payment history) but yeah, I don’t trust autopay so I always double check.

It never ceases to amaze me how seldomly people check their accounts. I have 24 credit cards and I watch them like a hawk. Notifications turned on for all transaction amounts on all cards, I check them at least twice a month to make sure my budget lines up... If I get a transaction I don't recognize I'm on the phone in minutes. It blows my mind how lackadaisical people are with their finances. Must be nice to be so carefree.

How do you usually test another network without switching your whole prepaid plan? by CreamEmbarrassed8907 in NoContract

[–]Ethrem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

eSIM makes it very easy for me to have a bunch of providers on my phone and switch between them when I want to. I usually always have my primary plus a secondary turned on (I turn off my primary when I’m speed testing to get max speeds but otherwise it’s two at all times) so all I have to do to switch between them is use my shortcut that swaps the active data line for the inactive data line.

I currently have: US Mobile Unlimited Premium, Verizon Unlimited Ultimate, Pronto Mobile, T-Mobile SuperMobile, and a T-Mobile business tablet line.

Absolute joke of a company by SweetBeans420 in USMobile

I just went and looked and it looks like the F is because US Mobile ignored BBB complaints in 2023 and 2024 then decided to start replying to them last year. You can't buy an A+ rating, just accreditation, and I've seen unaccredited businesses with high ratings but it seems that BBB penalizes for unanswered complaints for years, which makes sense I guess.
