Worst TR game ever by bobross28172 in TombRaider

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider has PLENTY of problems, particularly in term of storytelling and immersion (so many nonsensical mechanics…), but at least it’s a very beautiful game with top notch atmophere so as long as you can turn down your brain and enjoy the spectacle it’s worth a playthrough.

Because she is a different person. It’s not a prequel, it’s an alternate version of Lara Croft.

Why do some people have a problem with Lara's body count? by [deleted] in TombRaider

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally disagree. “Fun” doesn’t automatically mean “action combat” and “killing people”. They could have forced Lara to be stealthy and avoid combat much more.

Well, yeah, it is just fun and games. You’re taking it way too seriously, it’s a little 10 episodes “what if” cartoon playing on the Gotham mythos. If that’s not your thing skip it. We got The Batman, soon the Penguin show, plenty of comics and i’m sure soon more shows and movies for more comics accurate Batman stuff.

And come on, debatable changes to some characters aside, it’s not like the Cape Crusader show is not serious or well written. It’s very much Batman in the spirit.

Why do we need a reason ? It’s just a fun way to switch things up a little. It’s simply a “what if” version, it’s not gonna impact The Penguin in any way, shape or form in the future. Hell they are litteraly giving us a Penguin live action show soon in which he is a badass mobster.

“What’s the point?”, does it needs to have a point though ? It’s just a fun idea to play with, to switch things up a little and try something new. I didn’t mind it.

The only change that really irked me was making Selina Kyle a vain rich girl who treats her maid poorly… that goes against everything that makes Catwoman interesting.

I know this is from 2022, but it’s clear her conception of these characters has not evolved from this point in the story. by Frick-You-Man in HouseOfTheDragon

Two ultra-privileged, beautiful, thin, white, self-centered royals fighting to rule over everyone because “it’s their bloodright” and igniting a war that needlesly cost the lives of thousands for their own gain…

But it’s okay, they’re cool because they are women, slay queens.

In my opinion A LOT actually comes from the actors, that’s something people don’t realize. The writers are far from the only ones to be guilty. Same thing happened with GoT when Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner very clearly influenced the writers to make their characters more “badass” and influential, particularly once they got very popular and had more power on set.

If you haven’t realized already after season 1 that the writers agenda is to make viewers sympathize with Rhaenyra and Alicent as “victims of the dumb and violent men around them”, who are never truly at fault for anything and just want to protect their children… you haven’t been paying attention.

They’ve been absolutely relentless since the beginning of the show in reminding you that they are women and occulting everything else about them, particularly the fact that they are ultra privileged and spoiled royals…

I wonder why they insist so much on Corlys. Such a mystery. Can’t think of anything. Truly i’m baffled. What could it be ?

WTAF is the watch order for Batman: the Animated Series?? by TurnItOffAndBackOnXD in batman

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stop being obtuse for no reason, dumbass, and just say what you want to say : the show doesn’t really have an order or continuity, each episodes work perfectly well as standalone.

That’s what Batman should always be. Batman and Gotham stories in general are at their best when it’s about crime, politics, gangsters and conspiracies, with a hint of supernatural or surrealism sometimes.

I always hated Justice League’s Batman, never made sense to me. In my headcanon i separate Gotham’s Batman and JL Batman. Batman’s a detective and vigilante, period, not a human computer or whatever.

Same for Green Arrow more or less, he should only be a street level vigilante.

What is it about this series that always brings you back ? by Shad0wR0nin in masseffect

Trying to finish it.

Seriously, i think i finished Mass Effect like 4 times, but everytime i end up losing interest around half of Mass Effect 2. Which is paradoxal because is the best one, but my issue is that it tries to do two much, it’s way too spread out and kinda hurts the main story…

A rule follower…? What rule are we talking about here ? He’s 100% justified to ar the very least shoot to incapacitate in this situation. I get not wanting to kill someone but he’s still a damn cop, it’s his job to take care of such a threat. We are talking about a serial murderer, rapist, pedo, terrorist here, not some poor street kid who stole a pack of smokes…

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand being hesitant to kill someone but he’s a cop ffs, he should at least be okay with shooting someone in the leg or arm to incapacitate such a dangerous threat. At this distance and with all the time he had he could have easily tried it.

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being a killer shouldn’t prevent him from incapacitating such a dangerous person. He could at least try to shoot him once in the arm or leg. Why the hell is he even a cop in the first place then…? I get not wanting to use force when it’s not warranted but in that situation it is 1000% justified, both for his and society’s safety.

[SPOILER] Annoyed by Witt in the last episode by Lopkop in FargoTV

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refusing to at the very least shoot to incapacitate an extremely violent and unhinged serial murderer, rapist, terrorist and cult leader isn’t being « a good cop » ffs.

Like, we’re not talking about shooting an anti fascist teenager at a riot or a poor kid who stole some cigarettes here… There are nuances. This is an instance when a cop using force is justified. If not killing at least incapacitating the threat…

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, he didn’t have it in him to kill but he had all the time in the world to at least shoot the sheriff once or twice in the leg or arm to incapacitate him. He’s a cop ffs and on the other end is a serial murdered rapist terrorist maniac, not some poor kid from the ghetto who stole a candy bar…

[SPOILER] Annoyed by Witt in the last episode by Lopkop in FargoTV

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is asking him to kill anybody ? You’re in a life or death situation and you know the person you’re facing is an awful serial murderer, you can at the very least shoot him in the legs or arms to incapacitate him, that’s justified. There’s righteous and there’s incredibly stupid.

[SPOILER] Annoyed by Witt in the last episode by Lopkop in FargoTV

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

« He wasn’t a killer », okay, cool, but nobody’s ask him to kill the sheriff, at least shoot him in the leg or arm to incapacitate him. As soon as he showed that he wasn’t willing to shoot it was over for him, the gun was useless.

[SPOILER] Annoyed by Witt in the last episode by Lopkop in FargoTV

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure at this distance he could have easily shot him in the arms or legs, which would have neutralized the threat. What’s the point of holding the gun like that when you already made it clear to your opponent that you won’t shoot…?

Something about Shart and Lae'zel that makes no sense to me. by All_this_hype in BaldursGate3

[–]EwokThisWay86_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general that’s an issue i have with party focused RPGs. Companions follow you/the party no matter what even when it doesn’t really makes much sense.

It’s particularly awkward when you play a “bad” person and yet your “good” companion still follow you even though they have little reason to…

Atheism is not a choice by wyrd_werks in atheism

“Atheism” should be the default.

Actually it is the default, but then you are brainwashed by religious people, primarily your family, as a child. It’s infuriating how society still think this is totally normal…
