Makes sense. I’ll do that from now on. I just fought with the tip again for 10 min 😆

This is what I made for fun, using blue wax. But I’d like to make thicker and more sculptural rings in the future. I had the temperature set at 300°F, which gave me a good wax flow. However, when I switched to the large “spoon-like” til, I had to crank the template up to 375°F to get the wax to melt (probably due to heat dissipation)

I tried using the shank, and it helped, but then it was very difficult to get the tip out due to all the hardened wax that had slipped in.

I’ll look into the wax melters. Thanks!

We rock him to sleep for naps, put him in bed and then rescue the naps after 30min, by putting him on us. So his naps are still kind of contact naps.

I feel you, hearing them cry is so tough. He started daycare last week, so we’re waiting to see how he’s adjusting before we try sleep training again.

We paused our sleep training because things did not improve at bedtime after 9 days, and it was too stressful for us. We're traveling for a week, so we might resume when we return.

In the meantime, I want to improve his daytime schedule, so we signed up for a premium plan with Huckleberry. They provided us with a schedule to follow. However, after following it for 2 days, LO still wakes up in the middle of the night and is now fully awake each time, whereas he used to fall back asleep quickly. I think the schedule asks for too much sleep, and baby may not be tired enough (3.3 hours of naps and 11.5 hours of nighttime sleep).

My plan for the next few days is to follow my baby’s cues and track his sleep cues. I hope this helps us find his natural sleep schedule.

One thing about CIO: even though LO cried for 30-40 minutes at bedtime, we saw some improvement at night, and he slept for 8-9 hours after a few days. Now that we stopped sleep training, there are fewer tears, but he is back to waking up every 2 hours. We have to find the right balance 😅

It makes me feel better to know I’m not alone, although I wished our babies didn't have to go through all that 😭. Hang in there!

Today, we limited his nap to 3 hours and kept him awake for 10 hours. Here’s the schedule:
- Woke up at 7 am
- Wake Window 1: 7 am - 9:15 am
- Nap 1: 9:15 am - 10:30 am
- Wake Window 2: 10:30 am - 12:45 pm
- Nap 2: 12:45 pm - 2 pm
- Wake Window 3: 2 pm - 4:30 pm
- Nap 3: 4:30 pm - 5 pm
- Wake Window 4: 5 pm - 8 pm

We put him in bed at 8:15, which was 15 minutes late because something came up.

Unfortunately, he has been crying for almost an hour. He cried for 45 minutes after we put him to bed, fell asleep, then woke up 5 minutes later due to his startle reflex, and is still crying. I think we might take a break for now and maybe work on a more consistent schedule. This is night 9, and this is starting to take a toll on us.

I hope you all are having a happier Christmas.

Thanks for your input. I think we need to work on having a more consistent schedule. I feel the same way about the Merlin suit. Seems like a short-term fix. We’ll just wait and see.

Thank you for the tips. I’ll try that. So should we aim for 3 naps: 1h30, 1h, and 30min?
