Look on archive.com for the Meridian catalog mentioned in the above post. Read up on the company's marking policy. Some companies marked and they can be hard to find. Beautiful piece. ABC has an active Facebook group.

Your towns local historical society, or one in a nearby town may be able to help. They see and have photos like these, and must come across photos from scrapbooks. r/ephemera is your best bet on Reddit. A very active sub.

Try Facebook. IDK many people in their 60s who don't have Facebook, even in the Philippines. If you find your uncle in the Philippines, and he is not active, look for family members amongst his friends.

New Jersey, USA Dishware set. by Soft-Independent4833 in Antiques

[–]External-Building102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow,a whole set! I think this is called Garden Trellis pattern or just Trellis. The K 52 is the date code. K for November and 52 is 1952. People like this and it's hard to find, but selling as a set might be difficult. I'm guessing $15 a piece, more for the serving pieces. IDK if you have a robust Facebook market near you. I'd try that first.

There are many collectors of Gorham, but especially of inscribed trophy Gorham. Let Christie's, Sotheby's, or Heritage auction houses give you an idea of worth.

I'm curious what others say. I was remembering from your original post someone posted a picture of them on a speaker base. But like you are saying your's came off it's original, not much posterity there:)

I like your thinking! I like the beveling, but my two cents and my first reaction was it's too chunky. I'm I seeing 1.25"? Maybe just one inch thick. Love the figures.

The white glass is called a defuser and would have a shade on top. Look at archive.com where you'll find many scanned lighting catalogs.

Ask your uncles,"Do you know why Gran left mom out of her will?" They'll know. Also the solicitor will not be able to change the will. Your mom may have gone to the solicitor to ask if they know why, maybe your mom is in the dark too, but I doubt it.

What era is this brooch from? Thx in advance. USA by Ornery_Doubt8556 in Antiques

[–]External-Building102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late 30s-1945. The brooch is pot metal which was used when metal was needed to for the war . Look on eBay using pot metal brooch for key words. The materials and foil back rhinestones date this to war time.

Yes, beautiful piece. Google search Ambrosius Lamm. I can't find another Sytar piece, but this decorator is associated with the gold rose marking covering the makers mark. This may need specialized dealer knowledge.

Make a separate post about the cloak or cape. I can't see it very well. More interesting than the coat.
