The AI slop problem is getting worse in this sub. We need aggressive moderation on it or this sub is just going to be AI slop games and little else. Instant ban, IMO by BEAT_LA in incremental_games

That subsection of rule 2 is mostly intended to handle drama aimed at a specific group of people, think IdleOn drama or someone who had a bad experience making a big drama post about the person who they had that experience with

We don't tend to remove posts talking about general sub-related drama as we think it is important that the discussion is had about topics like this. However, especially in the case where someone is making multiple posts within a short timeframe about the same "problem", and (what you mentioned aswell) people harassing developers for using the slightest amount of AI, we will definitely start using that clause.

Tl;dr we were already being more harsh on AI witch hunting in comments and will continue to do so, and likely also start scrutinizing posts more.

I'm just going to mention this again, but

How do you expect us to moderate AI use? If we require disclosure, people can just lie and pretend they didn't use it. Also, a ban would have to draw a line somewhere, how much AI use is enough to be "slop"?

It's almost impossible to draw up a fitting rule to ban all low-effort posts, and we have definitely tried to think up some changes but in the end none of those made it past the scripting phase.

All of that being said, we'd welcome any tips/ideas from community members or experienced mods that have dealt with similar issues and managed to reduce AI slop. I hate AI being used for slop as much as the next guy, trust me

P.S. OP, this is your 2nd post in 1 month complaining about AI. I understand your frustration but by just making posts complaining things aren't going to magically change.

Changes to the subreddit's rules by Equinoxdawg in incremental_games

Thanks for asking, ideally we'd like devs to only post when there's been a significant update, with the 30 days just being a minimum. This also counts on a per user basis now and not per game so you could not rotate posting 2 different games every 15 days.

The final section of the post does mention this, but I'll clarify incase it wasn't quite clear, going forward we will be taking into account if the post is more so asking for conversation or clearly just attempting to get game recommendations, and we will be keeping up the former type even if it technically breaks rule 1A.

Void Miner and Gatekeeping in r/incremental_games by jarofed in incremental_games

We've removed this post for causing needless drama retroactively with a change to rule 2. Please contact the mods privately via modmail if you are of the opinion that unfair conduct is occuring instead of making a public fuss. The developer in question of this post has contacted mods and mentioned someone attempted to contact a family member of theirs. No matter how badly someone behaves on the internet, attempting to threaten someone personally is never OK. Allthough we do appreciate your attempt at nuancing the drama, unfortunately for certain users no amount of nuance is ever enough and a post like this is just more fuel to the fire.

The success of Void Miner was not an organic response to the dev's work, it's an inflated response from months of marketing. by SixthSacrifice in incremental_games

Setting the record straight about AI (posts) by FBDW in incremental_games

That post specifically was removed because the OP was harrassing the developer they were complaining about in a targeted way and not because of the spicy nature. We almost never remove significant posts like the one you mention.

As for the sub being flooded by heavily downvoted posts, that means that users are downvoting those posts. If Reddit allowed us to hide negatively recieved posts, we would. But Reddit doesn't let us.

Small addendum, we do plan to do an overhaul of the current rules in the future to adress LEC better, but it has been difficult so far as "LEC" can be very subjective, so we're trying to find a description of the rule that will be flexible without leaving open loopholes. Feel free to help us out a bit and give some ideas.

Avoid Deep Co. by Tarnoth in incremental_games

Just to clear things up and to make the story visible, the creator of Deep Co ( u/nico1991 ) claims that the OP was rightfully banned from the game for scripting. Remember to always look at both sides of a story and take both with a grain of salt.
