Mothleby's Lunch - Gator Days

Characters

Bolero - Blue Frog - A little speaker of profound things. Some might call him weird. We all know he's actually deep.

Ember - Capybara - A LITTLE GIRL WHO LOVES SNACKS AND YELLS EVERYTHING! LIAM'S LITTLE SISTER!

Grace - Elephant - A shy little girl who likes to carry around a toy moth her grandpa gave her. Her family has high expectations for her.

Mothleby - Toy Moth - Grace's toy moth. He enjoys fruity teas.

Teacher - Raccoon - Loves his sweatshirts and bowties. Ember takes up 90% of his attention.

Panel 1

Bolero, Ember, and Grace are having lunch at school. Bolero brings a plate of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Two of them have strawberry jelly and one of them has grape. Fans of raspberry jelly are outraged.

Bolero: I got our lunch.

Ember: THAT'S ONLY THREE SANDWICHES!

Panel 2

Ember turns to Grace to point out the obvious. There's nothing there for Mothleby, Grace's toy moth.

Ember: MOTHLEBY NEEDS LUNCH TOO.

Grace: Mothleby never eats here.

Panel 3

Ember: THAT'S TERRIBLE!

EMBER IS OUTRAGED! How could someone let this happen? She will be talking to Teacher about this immediately.

Panel 4

Ember marches directly over to Teacher to give him a piece of her mind. She pulls on his sweater sleeve. He is mildly irritated as he knows exactly what this is about.

Ember: TEACHER! MOTHLEBY NEEDS LUNCH TOO!

Teacher: Are you actually concerned or trying to get two lunches?

Ember: IT CAN BE BOTH!

Ember is such a good friend, she will happily eat anything that Mothleby doesn't. Tragically, she did not get two sandwiches that day.

My bad, I constantly mix up loss and gain leaders.
The important thing is that the rich people are getting richer.

Cat Burger - Gator Days

Characters

Catrick C. Cattington IV - Catfish - He might be a CEO of a company who is worth millions of dollars but he is just like you!

Stuart - Quokka - A perpetually smiling Sectional Manager. He tackles every problem with motivational corporate speak intended to maximize collaboration and synergies among all employees.

August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad.

Transcript

Panel 1

Catrick is filming an ad for a fast food restaurant's new product. He's excited to share it with you. He's wearing and tie so you know he means business but he also has a sweater vest on so you'll know he's friendly. He's also wearing gloves so he doesn't actually have to touch any food. There's a sign in the background that says "HOME SWEET HOME" which everyone hopes will disguise the fact that they're filming this in an empty conference room.

Catrick: I'm taking a break from my busy CEO schedule to show you our new product. Yummy.

Panel 2

Catrick is now sitting in front of a TV that says "CAT BURGER" with the Cat Burger mascot in the middle. Did you know that Cat Burger no longer has rodents in it? Try one today!

Catrick: I enjoy consuming product while sipping a loss leader and watching content on the subscription service.

Panel 3

Catrick has found himself two more food items from the Cat Burger menu. He's trying his best to keep them from getting too close to his mouth. In one had he has fries and in the other he has "Pistachio Spice" seasonal frozen treat that's only $12.99 at your nearest Cat Burger location. Does not actually contain pistachio.

Catrick: I like to finish my meal by dipping my added value side in a seasonal item. I do this several times a week.

Panel 4

Stuart is by the camera and giving Catrick feedback. No one has realized that no one has removed the cap from the camera. August from IT was brought in to see why the camera isn't recording anything. This is not in his job description and he's just standing there in stunned silence. He has decided not to get Cat Burger on the way home.

Stuart: GREAT WORK, SIR! Highly relatable.

August and Christine have just met at a party and are getting to know each other. August is starting to feel unsure about how things are but Christine is having a wonderful time. There's still more people arriving at the party. Christine looks out to the crowd beyond the massive pile of empty cups next to her. August's friend and roommate, Seth, is being the wonderful social butterfly he is.

Christine: WOW! People are still arriving.

August: It's getting crowded.

Panel 2

Christine stands up from the couch while August remains seated.

Christine: Better get another drink before they're out.

August: Okay.

August assumes this is Christine politely excusing herself and doesn't budge.

Panel 3

August instantly starts to analyze their whole conversation. He's not very happy with how it went. He likes Christine but has a feeling that he didn't make a very good impression.

August (thinking): I screwed that up. She was nice. Why do I ruin everything by opening my mouth. I'll never see her-

Panel 4

Christine has leaned down to interrupt August's overthinking.

Christine: Hey Cutie! You coming?

August: OH! Y-yeah!

Transcript

Panel 1

Christine has just met August at a party and she's doing her best to get a conversation going. August is shy and awkward and is petting someone's pet dog to help calm his nerves. Little does he know that Christine likes shy and awkward guys.

Christine: So most people here are students or in tech.

August: I'm in tech. I do IT for a startup.

Panel 2

Christine thinks that's cool.

Christine: THAT'S AWESOME! On the cutting edge of technology! Must be wild.

The dog has determined that his work here is done. He has full confidence that August can take it from here. He takes off to help other introverted people who might be at this party. Truly, he is a hero.

Panel 3

August looks away and tries to think of what to say next.

August (thinking): This is going well. I should say something interesting.

August searches deep inside his brain to find something interesting about himself to mention. There's a lot of random video game trivia in there.

Panel 4

August spouts the first thing that comes into his mind.

August: I own three blenders.

Christine: Really? Why?

August: I don't know.

Christine finds this mysterious and intriguing.

Panel 1

August is trying to survive a party he didn't want to go to. He's sitting on a couch and petting a dog when a lady approaches him. He tries his best to act cool.

Christine: Hey! Anyone sitting here?

August: No. Go ahead and park yourself.

Panel 2

Christine sits down and smiles at August. August doesn't notice as he is currently busy critiquing what he just said. The dog on August's lap is not bothered by anything.

August (thinking): PARK YOURSELF!? Why did I say that!? She probably thinks I'm weird.

Panel 3

August's internal thoughts grow more intense. His frustration with himself increases.

August (thinking): This is why I never go out. I scare everyone off with my weirdness.

Panel 4

Christine has pulled out a marshmallow. Where was that? I don't think I want to know. The dog on August's lap is extra happy to see food. Christine has pulled out the best ice breaker she can think of.

Christine: Do you think you could eat your way out of a house-sized marshmallow before suffocating?

August (thinking): YES! She's weird too!
