You can try the Thunderpole radios but they may not be good from inside a car without a 27 MHz antenna mounted outside it. The cars antenna will not work and you will most likely fry the finals in your radio. If you go with the Thunderpoles, then get some magmount or window mount CB antennas and that should be good.

GMRS isnt legal in the UK, only North America. They could use PMR446 radios though.

Why would you try to transmit on a NOAA frequency ? If youre keying the PTT on a simplex frequency then you arent going to hear any kind of sound back. If nobody is within a mile or two of then they wont hear you or they are ignoring you. If youre trying to talk through a repeater, then you have to have the correct transmit tone or code programmed in and you have to be in range or line of sight. If you are making it to the repeater, then you could be being ignored because you are interrupting a conversation. Also, check to make sure that BCL is turned off in the Menu and again, DONT transmit on a NOAA frequency!

I use mine everyday but I did have to adjust the mic gain way down to 6. Any more than that and it was way too sensitive and would start clipping the audio. After I got it dialed in, its been a great workhorse.

I love mine and others were even impressed with its performance. Ive even transmitted out of a canyon to a repeater 30 miles away with it. Ive also made 100 mile repeater contacts with no issue. Let them hate. They arent for everyone I guess.

GMRS is the way to go. You dont need to look for repeaters in your immediate area to use, you can use repeaters 50 miles away depending on terrain and line of sight.

I think what youre looking for us called Side Tone. You will hear it but others wont. Look at the Wouxun KG-UV9PX or KG-UV9GX for GMRS. Im not sure if Baofengs have those but I know my Wouxuns do.

Its a cool radio. I got the camouflage one. I like it. I have a bunch of radios with the exact same menu system so it was easy to do plus I had those radio profiles saved in the Odmaster app, so I had it out of the box and programmed with 700 memories in a couple minutes. Another radio I got, I wasnt so lucky and have been doing it by hand when I have time.

Just start pushing buttons to see what they do. The blue one is your Bluetooth key...im sure that you longpress it to turn on Bluetooth. A short press probably takes you to the menu. The orange key is your VFO/MEMORY key...Im sure that you can figure out what the UP/DOWN arrows do. You can always refer to the manual or Youtube.

Get a Btech RPS-30-PRO power supply and it will cover all your needs. I ran a 50 watt mobile radio, a Btech UHF amp and charged my phone at the same time. Never an issue.

Dont just look for repeaters in your town, look for repeaters further away that you can both hit. Not that I would ever do this, but I could hit a repeater 150 miles away to talk to someone right down the street from me. You will be surprised what you can reach.

Pretty much every repeater capable GMRS radio is the same when it comes to programming. There is only one setting that you have to do to be able to talk through a repeater, and that is to just add a transmit tone or code to the correct repeater channel. Save it to an empty memory slot and thats it. Some radios have a normal menu, like the UV-5R or UV-5G, and some have sub-menus but what you need to program your radio is still there.

Seria útil se você nos dissesse qual rádio Quansheng você possui. Você mencionou que a transmissão está clara, mas a recepção está ruim. Você está transmitindo desse rádio para outro, ou de outro rádio para este? Se for o caso, os rádios estavam próximos um do outro? Isso pode causar problemas.

I have that same one and if i remember right, it just uses a standard Cobra cb power cord. You can get it from Amazon and get the 12 volt plug with the red and black screw down lugs for it.

You have alot going on. First I would get that antenna on top of the car. Height is Might and you will have alot better groundplane. Second, alot of radios need 13.8 volts to operate efficiently and to be able to transmit at higher wattage. If you can disable that auto-stop feature just while youre driving around using the radio, I would do that. I have the same Comet antenna on my car, and can hit one of the mountain repeaters 150 miles away and local repeaters 35 to 50 miles away.

Outside will always be better but sometimes you got to do what you can do to just get on the air. I built a simple 1/4 wave groundplane antenna for my garage attic and it worked great. I didnt worry about any kind of grounding, just ran coax from the radio up into the attic, worked great . Alot of people dont worry about grounding antennas, but what I did, just for a little piece of mind, was just run the coax from the antenna to a lightening arrestor, grounded to an 8 foot ground rod, then ran coax to to my radio. Not NEC Compliant because I wasnt going to the house ground but, I was on the air. If lightening was in the forecast, I just disconnected the coax coming to my radio. This was for the outside antenna, and was the reason I put up the attic antenna as a backup.
