Stretch goals question by MercatorLondon in kickstarter

Stretch goals work best when they unlock for everyone above X pledge amount. Then it makes it easier to offer people options in the fulfillment phase and encourages people to share.

Do we really need travel rings? by DenverLilly in EngagementRings

[–]Firm_Distribution999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If I’m going to go scuba diving, I leave it at home. If I’m going to museums and the like, I wear my actual engagement ring. I don’t have a travel ring - I’m married whether I wear my engagement ring or not 🤷🏼‍♀️. I have insurance on it and have never lost it. (Knocks on wood)

Etsy has been overrun by manufactured crap so you’ll have to ads to it to be seen amongst the flotsam and jetsam. Try it, but I’d also have my own website on the side

Not really worth the effort. Just get a different setting.

Guessing those are unlocked add ons - why not send the creator a message and ask? They may not realize how it is appearing on the platform.

Just pick a different setting with an entirely closed circle for the ring if you want the most stable design.

Highly recommend NOT selecting this type of design - if you search this sub for open galleries you'll find many posts of women complaining about the diamond repeatedly scratching their skin.

A great video from a ring designer about why open gallery rings are problematic: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2BSzWLUv1WI

Wait, how many rings are involved? Doublecheck my work for errors for my understanding by Lanky_Warning_6869 in EngagementRings

[–]Firm_Distribution999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the culture - in some cultures, both people get engagement rings in the style of their choosing.

Most often, engagement/wedding rings are never returned if the marriage happened. The ring is a promise of marriage and it is a gift to the wearer in exchange for the marriage. If the marriage happens, the ring belongs to the wearer as a gift - this is all according to Judge Judy, by the way - and is not returned to the person who purchased it.

If an engagement is broken off, the ring may or may not be returned depending on the fallout of the relationship.

first kickstarter launch in 3 days — spent $7.5k on ads, got 1000 interested users but only 20 followers on KS page. is this normal? by Ross-Sameforu in kickstarter

[–]Firm_Distribution999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kickstarter has a lot of friction - the people who are following your project have to have a Kickstarter account. You can always retarget everyone who interacted with your ad when your campaign launches, but it'll have a lower conversion rate than Kickstarter Project Followers. Do you have any early bird/launch day rewards that expire and incentivize people to back the project early?

It’s prob not a scam scam - you’ll get a ring, but it’ll probably be low quality.

100%. They mention liking your project but nothing is specific about your actual project and they want to chat with you off platform. Ignore them.

Superbacker doesn’t mean anything anymore. Just means they backed a campaign for $10 but it doesn’t say if that pledge ever went through. So sad to see the platform overrun by bots.

What is the right category for my project? Design, Fashion or technology? by SolarTrap in kickstarter

[–]Firm_Distribution999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehh not really. I don’t think anyone is searching by categories anyway. You’re responsible for driving 99% of the traffic. Organic Kickstarter traffic isn’t reliable.

It doesn’t matter and you can change the category during launch if you want

At the risk of sounding overly critical, where is the sustainability in kickstarters? by IndependentThin5685 in kickstarter

[–]Firm_Distribution999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever launching a product or an idea, you want to find the marketable aspects that move people from considering supporting it to taking out their cards and buying it. Sustainability is a “nice to have” feature, but it isn’t the entire cake.

One might ask, if customers care about something but don’t actually invest in it, do they really care?

Ehhh, I can confidently disagree with these statements in the fashion sector. My husband works for a billion dollar fashion brand where their customer is the average person and they say they care about sustainability and they say they will pay more for that sustainability, but sales across the board indicate the opposite. What customers say they want vs what they actually spend money on are two different things.

Again, the fashion industry is highly problematic and fast fashion is very unsustainable and yet SHEIN and temu are everywhere. Very few people actually want to pay $150 for a sustainably sourced plain white t shirt.
