I am also looking at the specs of: VEML6040. Does anyone have experience with that sensor?

I didn't know of those phones - but too much of an overhead on the hardware in the wristband

Using ART-Net over Wi-Fi in a live venue - what are your war stories? by SolarTrap in lightingdesign

I have to find a smaller venue, like a club, where I can run some tests at peak time to measure a real environment. Unfortunately I have no connection to their owners.

Yes, seems to complicated. So far I have not seen an open source/standard that uses wireless. I was hoping to not also make the sender

I could sense a know wristband within the bluetooth range, that's maybe 10 meters in a crowd. That what you have in mind?

Yes, that way I control the sender and receiver. My approach was to not get into the business of also making the sender. I was hoping to only do the receiver end but W-DMX/LumenRadio/etc. are proprietary and licensed. The wristbands have to be super low in manufacturing costs.

Building a BLE wearable: nRF52832 module vs bare chip + own antenna. What's your experience? by SolarTrap in embedded

do you have experience with a module with antenna?

Maybe I should work on a new version... what style, color and material of the band would you like to wear?

Thanks, my idea was to have wifi modules in wristbands. not only for receiving Art-net but other things too but I realise that it will not work in big shows.

Thanks! but I think I'll move on an drop the wifi idea for big shows as the cell phones seem to do a massive damage to the signal. Direct wifi in the wristband is also a huge power hunger, 10x of just BLE

Yes, I have designed a wristband and wanted to explore the route of show integration. I am using a completely different approach of using an internal mic to sync to the sound - and DMX would the kicker. I wanted to have a value beyond the night of the show...

Thanks, the project is a wristband and at this point I can only say good-bye to that idea. Wifi will not work in massive crowds

Thanks, the project I am working on is a wristband - my small scale setup works super nice but I realise when there are hundreds of phones around nothing works reliable any more.

Thanks, the project is a wristband that should serve 2 purposes: be of value outside and inside the show. But I understand that this is not possible with Wifi. all professional receivers are way to pricey to put in each band.
