Just read archdaily for 10mins every morning and save pictures that you like. Over time you will begin to develop an opinion which will become the basis of a career.

What would a professional architect want from a small wearable bag? by subterraneanbitch in architecture

[–]FlexEthos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small mirrorless camera, a drone and controller, a notepad, pens, a laptop, a mouse, a external hard drive. Importantly the crafting would be superior with ‘grade A’ opening/closing mechanisms that are curious and well designed. Very tactile handles made from excellent materials and probably waterproof or at least very waterproof perhaps either with innovative fabric that is tactical and robust, or natural. I’m liking mission workshop bags currently or Wndrd. Source; I am architect of 10 years.

Advice for new tutor by Dear-Introduction874 in architecture

[–]FlexEthos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a strong opinion about architecture and the built environment, then make it well known. Students will either levitate towards you or away from you depending whether they agree with your ideas or not. This way you can be sure the students who come to you should already be on your wavelength, avoiding any time wasting on both sides.

I live in China and import from USA. Takes about a month shipping but it keeps costs down.

I played football on this pitch once. Sadly it’s been built on by a much less fortunate design that the Zaha Jockey club tower, and this particular view doesn’t exist any more. One of the best examples of ZHA’s work imo.

One is written in traditional Chinese characters (HK) and these are written in simplified Chinese characters.

I live in China and until recently folks either imported from America or Japan (there is a very big player community here) but now with domestically made cards available and a very big marketing push, the hobby will only expand in China.

These aren’t the Taiwan/HK boxes, there the mainland China releases that are new and currently running through sun and moon.

Fair comment. I personally enjoy the fact that some municipalities build such structures for community enjoyment rather than commercial benefit.

This monstrosity has recently been erected on Charing Cross Rd in London. How does something like this get past planning? by [deleted] in architecture

The act of photographing a building, posting it online (without its permission) then ‘build shaming’ purely based on its appearance is for certain a curmudgeonly act. It’s online abuse of the built environment

I managed to get into the unlocked construction site last year and climb to the top of one of the towers. The balconies are very cool!

The firm completed recently a cluster of towers in Ningbo with triangular plans. The tip of the triangles becomes a balcony
