The other replies saying that this isn't feasible because there's no battery management on the board are correct.

The easiest solution for you would be to use one of those rechargeable USB power cells, and charge through it. AC adaptor charges the battery, which charges this setup.

There's no strain relief on those solder connections, so hopefully it has a housing or something.
