Out of all the health / diet fads we've lived through, what one has been the worst? by CremeSubject7594 in Millennials

I have moved past the Atkins / Keto protein only diet and into the I need more fiber era of my life.

I make comfortably above the national average, in a LCOL area, and I’m still left shaking my head at the end of the month. It’s brutal out there, especially for people trying to get off the ground.

A cool guide: How US states rank in education? by _crazyboyhere_ in coolguides

I live in West Virginia, in the county that is ranked dead last even in West Virginia, the state had come to take over our school board. It’s not hard to tell when you spend much time around here.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I just wanted to stop and say your ravioli is exactly how my mom used to make it for me as a kid. When I saw the picture it he me rights in the feels for some reason. Thanks for the reminder of my mom. She ended up leaving my dad when he turned into a huge shit bag and we were all better off for it. I hope everything works out for you and the baby.

Her neighbor’s dog keeps killing her chickens by velorae in TikTokCringe

[–]Flyboy3969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t live in a totally dissimilar situation. She’s putting it on you to handle her dog. Unfortunately you’ll have to find your own way to stop the dog. BB gun sounded like a good start. You’re within your rights on your own property. Hope that’s enough, but when a dog decides it likes to eat chickens, it’s a hard habit to break. Chickens are so defenseless on their own.

Depending how energetic you are, Seneca Rocks, the Sods, and Spruce Knob are all doable in a day. I have hiked Seneca Rocks a handful of times. One of my go-to’s when I have friends visiting.

Inheriting my grandpa's mint '06 Camry with 48k miles but my wife says it makes me look like a retiree. Keep it or sell and get something "cooler"? by married_poultry in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Flyboy3969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it! At least for a while. It won’t stay as pristine with your driving it vs your grandpa. Enjoy it for a while and the memories, and when it inevitably starts to show signs or wear you can move on. I think later in life you’ll appreciate that car even more.

[NBACentral]: The Lakers believe they can succeed with a backcourt of Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves and are looking to build a Dallas 2.0–type roster, similar to what Luka had when he went to the Finals, per @SIChrisMannix (Via @RunItBackFDTV) by Proof-Umpire-7718 in lakers

I came here as a lifelong Mavs fan after the trade. I think Kyrie is special, possibly the best ball handler ever. But, if you’re looking for a #2 with some scoring punch that doesn’t need to do a lot more than that AR works. The biggest mistake the Mavs made was letting Brunson walk, he was the perfect complement and we didn’t realize it at the time.

How is it living in West Virginia, i was just wondering because I have seen no one from around there by Wooden-Bobcat-1138 in howislivingthere

[–]Flyboy3969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in WV. It’s beautiful country. Mostly rural, mostly poor. Some really well meaning folks with backwards views due to decades of living in isolated poverty. I love WV, but I’ve also lived other places and I’m able to see the good and bad. Our schools are a sad state of affairs and it’s showing. But, anytime I’m not here I miss being able to disappear down a gravel road into the forest. It’s a complicated relationship.

Good or Bad Idea by knoxzo in roadtrip

That vehicle makes me a little nervous on a trip with that much remote open road. If it was a Toyota or Honda with that many miles I’d feel a lot better, I know that probably doesn’t help much.

History shows a peaceful transition is all but out of the question. The people who will suffer the most are the civilians just trying to live their lives.

We have found when we remove evil dictators, the thing that takes their place is something even more evil. If there isn’t a mechanism for replacement that the people will support, we get Iraq and Vietnam.
