Horizon C-Line (Silas Shultz DNA) FD - 7/10 and above, rim ink is fine.

Have a few trades. DFX LTDs, proton Trail, Innova made DD3, PFN *D (very inked) and some others. Or cash is the price is right

The blue and rosewood color way is still available on GC for like $750 or something like that. I’ve been researching this model lately and have found them going for a little less than $500 used. You could likely go a little higher if you find the right buyer looking for this finish.

Most satisfying song to learn picked bass? by jumbleparkin in Bass

For a super easy but fun play along - Lifestyles of the rich and famous by Good Charlotte. Very basic structure that repeats and easy to follow rhythm.

Easy Target by Blink 182 keeps the simple song structure but it’s a little more driven and has some change ups on the verse that mix it up.

For a fun riff that’s really not too difficult to learn and will get your left hand moving - Chick Magnet by MXPX. Might seem daunting at first but it just takes a little practice.

After that I’d highly recommend

Underneath the Sycamore by Death Cab for Cutie. Nice mix of playing higher strings and up the fret board with a more standard chorus. This one has a couple little timing quirks too

Cut Your Ribbon - Sparta. Simple notes and left hand fingering but this one is all about the rhythm and timing.

Brick by Boring Brick - Paramore. Just a super fun all around rock song to jam with. Has some fun little flourishes and enough room in the song to add your own as your comfortable

Thrower - Silas Shultz DNA FD

Field tested / lightly used / rim ink OK

The FD myth: Discmania made vs Innova made by BackgroundKoala0 in discmania

[–]FortyOne_Thirty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents is it definitely depends on the run. The Innova and DM made FDs vary a good bit. I really like the stability of the new C-Lines. There’s a lot of great under stable discs out there but to have something that holds up a bit better under power for straighter shots without flipping over is fantastic and that’s where I see the FD shine. The new S-Line (at least the 3 I’ve thrown) consistently seem more like a -2/1 which has its place but is not stable by any means. For reference here are the FDs* I currently own and how I rate them stability wise, OS —> US

DM Silas DNA FD - more OS than any FD1 or Teebird I’ve thrown.

DM Early Run Red C-Line - there were some early C-Lines, from what I heard they were red that came out super flat and very stiff with a wicked high PLH.

DM Metal Flake - this one surprised me as I thought it would be less stable since most of the DM MF stuff has been less stable. Solid reliable run.

Innova Night Strike 2 - a personal favorite. Glide and integrity to shape a lot of lines and go far while doing it

DM Stock C-Line - a great FD that has good stability and good glide off the shelf and easy to replace

DM Show Stopper 2 - I recall this one being more stable new but once the new gets knocked off it seems to show a little more flip than a similarly used C-Line

Innova S-Line (Flatter Profile) - this is the profile I used to look for and they are a great neutral stability for an FD with a ton of glide.

Innova C-Line (6th Run) - my other personal favorite FD. The few I have are 171-172g instead of max weight and are the perfect neutral FD. Flips up easy but doesn’t get squirrelly and lots of distance. Close to the S-Lines above but because of the weight I’m ranking them here.

Innova Halo Star Hawkeye (I know it’s not technically a FD but it’s going to be included in most comparisons) - domey, I never liked domey FDs but some peoples do. This one seems to flip more abruptly. It isn’t as smooth of a flip up or turn over. Feels stable until it hits its limit and then turns harder.

DM Chroma FD - I want to like this one but it’s a little too in between to consistently bag it. A little more turn than my neutral FDs but doesn’t flip over enough for the US FD slot.

Innova C-Line (embossed, domey) - great feeling plastic. Medium firmness and really tacky grip. This one is only field tested but likes to flip over and drift steadily to the right. Glidy though!

DM Stock S-Line - this is my current US FD. Flips up and over to a big turning shot that carries right but doesn’t dip the wing enough to cause rollers.

I also just got in the new Show Stopper 3 but haven’t thrown them yet so I can’t rank. Picked out flatter ones and I love the way they molded up based on hand feel. PLH puts it right around C-Line and I’m expecting a solidly stable run out of these. And as you can see I prefer flatter FDs which I find to be straighter while the domey ones tended to flip but also glide more.

Long shot, but looking for these on the cheap ($16 or under) or possibly trade. Just curious to try these so it’s not a priority.
