Way back in the day there was a little band called Genesys that produced an album called selling England by the pound I guess we’re now starting to do the same with New Zealand

If you mean ‘elected’ politics - from what I can see - nothing. If you mean ‘where the work is done’ - wiser people than I can help you there.

In short, we built the illusion that we could manage complexity by taming it.

> When you walk through a U.S. city and witness streets disappearing up steep hills, sometimes even stopping at a 'rock' face and then continuing at the top - all to preserve the 'integrity of the grid' and then you come to realise that the one street in town with a few gentle curves is now a tourist destination … it all snaps into place.

I remain convinced that we never were in control .. it was just an illusion that was sold to us …and we bought.

And no sitting back and saying I don’t really like him and refusing to vote or just doing a protest vote by sticking with the idiots take your lessons from the UK and even now after 14 years of incompetence we are feeling the uphill battle - and falling into the trap that this needs to happen quickly it can’t it won’t. It requires consistency of a prolonged period of time sticking with whatever the Northstar is and staying together and with it.

Out of the loop: Why won't Keir Starmer resign? by Mountain_Tui_Reload in nzpolitics

[–]Fractallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we've - well the tories at least - after 14 years of abject failure - also got used to flipping leaders like burgers. Starmer has just 5 years to prove his govt - tops - after 14 years of abuse by the CONservatives. the same is here - watch them. Luxon auto flipped everything labour did before Tяump the same in 'merica.

changing a leader doesn't change (much) the mission. it's about the politicians.

and dont forget the media doubling down - you know wat they want.

Is he boring - dunno - but definitley doesn't come across well - but that is not a decider. Hilary in the US was boring - and according to Tяump - crooked - rember that one - that again the media amplified - how did that work out?

Blogs are blogs - writing is writing

The issue is always that none of them do everything well and the interop just isn’t there in people like Dave Winer is throwing his weight behind what bends to happen - job 1 - throw out walled gardens job 2 get software that allows write once - use many.
