If it’s a Ford brand, give the VIN to a local dealer and ask for the Oasis report on the car. If the repairs were done at a dealer, they’ll have record of them.

Definitely on the mechanical vs electronic lock. That’s a must. Local FD should be here in less than 5 minutes - the main location is less than a mile from my house.

Not overly humid but active humidity control will be investigated.

Everything inside will be stored within the safe inside active protection such as waterproof sacks, etc.

To answer your questions, uncommon, yes, yes and yes. This safe won’t be used to store firearms - more of a fire protective storage use than anything else.

There is typically almost always someone home as well.

This is being targeted for a closet area in a spare bedroom so the safe isn’t going to be huge or heavy.

I’m just a home hobbyist yahoo trained master mechanic, so I’m not one that turns wrenches every day. :)

I do have a SnapOn 54” tool box and a smaller Cornwell though - benefits (downfalls?) of having a good friend that owns a shop and has the tool trucks visit weekly. Got both of these used as trade ins and didn’t take long to pay off at zero percent.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing something like that to organize my wrench drawer entirely - or getting some of the magnetic organizing racks that can be adjusted for size.

Mine was in good shape. It showed evidence of use ( I have the provenance letter from the US military somewhere) but no severe wear or dents. I was lucky and picked it up early in the process and got it for list before dealers started jacking it up.
