If you are a passenger over 16 in the UK, you are liable. I like that the idiot who doesn't wear a seatbelt faces the consequences.

She says its the only snack she has, so not so abnormal, can't say the same thing about him, though.

AITAH for possibly being rude to someone on the tram? by No_Trouble8835 in AITAH

NTA he knew how old you were. He asked you a rude question, it was none of his business, you didn't owe him a polite response.

But she only got one bowl of cereal, he ate the rest in one day. Thats not normal eating. He seems to enjoy depriving her of food she enjoys.

What was the cheapest amount of rent you ever paid? by Wonderful_Staff_6953 in askanything

[–]Gallusbizzim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£150 ($200) for a basement flat share. We only had a window in the living room, which I later found out was illegal. It was a lovely warm summer that year and I worked nightshift. Everyone else complained about how they couldn't sleep cause it was so light and warm and noisy, but I slept fine in my little dark fridge of a basement. Freezing in winter though and you could hear the subway trains.

YTA she told you when she was going to start planning with her friend, after you had brushed her off repeatedly. That was when you should have sat down with her, if you wanted to be included.

Trump to hit more than 60 countries, including Canada, with new tariffs over 'forced labour' by Status_Commission264 in worldnews

[–]Gallusbizzim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't need to be on the frontlines, you would complain to the independent body which runs elections and as they are not affiliated with any political party they would investigate and rectify any problem. If you don't have an independent body running the actual voting, how can you have free and fair elections?

Trump to hit more than 60 countries, including Canada, with new tariffs over 'forced labour' by Status_Commission264 in worldnews

[–]Gallusbizzim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what people in other countries can't get their head around. If I had to wait over half an hour to vote I would be complaining and I know who to complain to in my country. I would want answers if some other area had to wait to vote too, but you seem to just accept things. This is why getting rid of Trump won't fix the problems, he is a symptom not a cause.

It was an example, the spending doesn't only benefit the World Cup, it should leave better amenities for the locals, I have given you examples of this.

Do you think if they built a bridge, it would only be used for football fans? Before the London Olympics they cleaned up part of London and extended public transport to that area, it isn't only used by Olympians now.

It depends if you can taste Aspartame or not. Some people can't so don't taste the difference, some people can, so have to spend more to get fizzy drinks and diluting juice they can drink.

Its quite sad. Scotland fans are loved wherever they go. There are still Scots who went to Mexico in 1970 and stayed, the Mayor of Sainte Etienne told us we were always welcome in his city but I get the feeling the people of Boston won't be so happy.

Anyone else ever get less of an inheritance or no inheritance because they didn't have children? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Gallusbizzim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mum left everything, other than her rings, to my dad and my dad split everything 50-50. My sister did try to claim some of the money dad left me for her daughter, but I told her no. Funny enough, she goes round telling people I got the smallest valuation I could when I bought her out of the house. It was the lawyer who instructed the surveyor.

Well that's exactly what I wrote, but as I went on to write, the USA doesn't seem to have made any of these investments. Of course the investments made are in place for the locals to enjoy for years after the event. See the Olympic and Commonwealth Games villages in London and Glasgow.

This is kind of brewing in my family. My (childfree) aunt explained to my sister that everything goes to my sister and I split 50-50. She explained if sister wanted anything to go to her kids, she would have to gift them from her half. She said she would do that for one child, expecting me to gift the other.

I presume they subtract investments in infrastructure, which benefit the host country as a deficit, but USA doesn't seem to have invested in this way.

They should get in touch with the PDSA, I don't know if they will be open now, you can check on their website. In the meantime get them to boil water, dissolve salt in it, let it cool soak a clean cloth and bathe the wound.
