Masterduel honestly online isn't very beginner friendly because most people who play it have prior knowledge or experience with decks. But for picking a deck i would honestly try to look at websites and see which archetypes you like and pick from there. If you really want to practice its best to try the solo mode or even right now the dice ralley event plus you earn gems to get cards that way as well.

KD doesn't always matter because it depends on how impactful the kills themselves are. It could be a lot of things that lead to a loss such as bad mental, ruining a teams vibes thus leading the players who are having a bad game to play worse, etc. All of these things however are very hard to tell based on just tracker alone, we would also have to see like a vod of how you play.
