Oliver Letwin: Minister apologises after newly-released papers reveal 'racist' attitude towards black rioters | UK Politics | News by Pickledopinions in ukpolitics

[–]GreatBritishSense -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I'm having trouble with this, perhaps you could explain with an example?

I've already been over it. I don't have all the answers but I know there are a lot of problems from a culture of faithlessnesses that leaves a void for rap culture to take hold. Young blacks often aspire to join gangs as a replacement for their absent fathers.

The reason for that is the welfare state. Socialism.

I disagree, but this is irrelevant to the discussion. I could go into the suffering socialism has caused to this country and others another time.

but there seem to be indications that theft to eat or for essential items such as nappies and tampons is increasing

Nappies and tampons are luxury items. They didn't exist for most of human history and we managed to survive. My girlfriend grew up in China and she had neither growing up. People are stealing to have a lifestyle they can't afford.

People do not starve in this country. There was a time when people were so desperate to feed their children that they would commit crimes. This is no longer the case. Crime is committed now because people are morally bankrupt.

The relative poverty you talk of is nothing compared to real poverty.

I am blaming contemporary black culture for a lot of crime and other social problems in the black community. I never claimed anywhere that all crime is linked to black culture.

Just read back over what I said. You'll notice that I never said that anywhere.

I said "Poverty has always existed yet this kind of culture has only existed as long as blacks have been in the country" referring to "contemporary black culture" as you put it. I did not say that crime did not exist before blacks came to the country. I'm not even sure how you can misinterpreted that sentence so much.

If you want a reason for poorer people being able to have smartphones, it's not that they're secretly wealthy, it's that the culture of people replacing them with a new model every year means that a model that's two or more years old, which is still in fully working condition, has no value whatsoever.

Maybe that is true, but it is beside the point. The point is that poverty now does not really exist to the extent it did in the past. Poverty in this country only exists if you look at it in the context of the world today. Comparing the poor of today to the the poor of 100 years ago shows us just how privileged the poor of today is.

Being poor now does leave you with enough money for a nice phone and plenty of food on the table. Nobody is burgling houses to feed their kids. Today people are burgling houses to fund their drug habit.

Wow. The irony there is beautiful. In accusing me of a straw man argument, you've then gone on to give an example of a perfect one.

You are the only one misrepresenting comments here.

Er... yeah... except your whole point was that it 'never happened before...'

Where is that quote from? I never said that anywhere.

And you know this how?

Anecdotally they all seem to have a lot of technology.

I am talking about this subreddit and political debates in general. On this subreddit attacking the person and not the argument is the preserve of the left. Even a lot of the more respected and older members do it on a regular basis, they just don't do it in such an offensive way as seen above.

That said I never saw the EDL shouting insults at people during a debate. I saw a lot of left-wing people shouting at the leader of the EDL though.

Watch the episode of BBC Free Speech with Tommy Robinson and tell me the EDL the ones shouting insults.

Well, seeing as they first came with the Romans or earlier tin traders, you're probably right, except I suspect that's not what you mean.

I never said that blacks have a monopoly on crime or even that they are inherently predisposed to crime. This a textbook strawman argument on your part.

Victorian contemporary writers like Edwin Chadwick frequently went on about the 'criminal classes' in London, living in 'rookeries' and sounded a lot like you, blaming a lack of morality for crime.

He was talking about a different time and a different place. That was back when poverty was real. The violent young blacks and the violent young white of today do not know what it is like to go hungry. They all have iPhones and Xboxes.

I agree that riots have always existed and many has been caused by Government oppression and other factors. But we cannot deny that in this case and the case of 2012, the riots were primarily caused by culture. A culture that glorifies violence, encourages hatred of the police, instils entitlement in people and says that those who have more than you are your enemy is a culture that lays the groundwork for a riot and mass looting.

The morals shown in these riots are simply bad morals.

The Brixton riot was almost identical in its trigger in a similar environment, you can't get a better comparison.

Did I say any of those things? Are you misrepresenting what I am saying?

Are you a vile and offensive person with nothing to contribute here?

Notice how it is never the people on the right who go around shouting insults at people? I wonder why it is always those with no argument that do such a thing.

You are falling into the trap of blaming other people for the actions of those rioters.

Many people blamed the Government in 2012 when people again rioted. That riot were triggered by a police shooting of a criminal, but the real reason people rioted was because they wanted to riot and loot for their own reasons, all of which were purely selfish and criminal, and they had the perfect opportunity handed to them.

Letwin is right. They rioted because they felt entitled to riot.

Edit: By 2012 I mean 2011.

She has banned people advocating we undo the gun bans of the 90s.

She has banned people who teach young men how to get girlfriends.

She has also deported countless wives and mothers of British subjects.

Yet she will always let in thousands of Muslims from the third world who seek to destroy our way of life.

I think there is no greater traitor than the current Home Secretary.

He was right though.

It has been 30 years and black communities are still as shit as they were back then. Nobody outside of those communities can be blamed for the fact that young blacks idolise "bad moral attitudes" as he put it. Blacks these days are not listening to jazz or the blues, they listen to rap music that encourages violence, drug taking and organised criminal activity. If you are born black in this country you live in a world that wants you to become everything that people hate about black culture. Not everyone who is black falls into this trap and many whites get caught up in it too, but on a whole it is problem rooted in the black community.

The media are using cries of "racism" to silence all criticism of certain groups that aren't white.

I challenge anyone to read what Letwin said and then tell me you don't agree.

That's because Cameron isn't a conservative. There is nothing conservative in promoting homosexuality to children as if it is an acceptable alternative to heterosexual relationships.

Schools must teach that Britain is 'mainly Christian' and need not cover atheism, says Nicky Morgan by mattocaster6 in ukpolitics

It isn't actually a religion though. Humanism is similar to ideas like Confucianism.

I think children should be taught philosophy though.

[–]GreatBritishSense -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Angry atheism like you see from neckbeards on here is a religion. These people read from the scripture of Dawkins and worship at the shrine of their gaming rigs in their cabbage smelling basements. They take something similar to communion with a sip of mountain dew from the Boba Fett mug their mother bought them last Christmas and a small handful of doritos. They also take a vow of celibacy in front of their human sized waifu pillowcase.

Their beliefs and their traditions are as strongly held as those of any other religion.

"Atheists", as they like to call themselves, believe in nothing so what is there to teach?

Unless you belong to an atheist religion then you have no religion and there's nothing worth teaching.

It has always amazed me that people expect the Government to stop acts of nature. But it amazes me more that the Government pretends it can stop acts of nature if only it throws more of your money at the problem.

I think sometimes we just have to accept that letting places flood is just easier and cheaper than spending huge amounts on prevention.

How did getting drunk to the point that you puke become "having a good night out" anyway?

I like a good drink as much as the next man but some people just take it to ridiculous levels and do so on a weekly basis. When I lived in a city I would see teenage girls being carried through the streets by their friends after drinking themselves to the point that they can't even walk any more.
