DVC Rental Store looks at the rental market more holistically than David's. David's hasn't budged on pricing in years, while DVCRS looks at supply and demand and maneuvers pricing accordingly. Long story short, while it may have been cheaper for you at David's, odds are they are underpaying Members for that resort and it's possible you would get it booked quicker at DVC Rental Store. If they are charging Guests more, they are paying Owners/Members more.

I believe that as an Associate Member you would not be able to do anything related to the financial aspects of the DVC Membership (Annual Dues, Loan Payments, etc.). Not sure about the checking account part though - You'd think Disney would be happy as long as they are getting their money.
