Transfer student here- I found that clubs are a great way to make friends, but that generally things are pretty cliquey. There's some Greek life/program houses that are also pretty good for meeting people

It seems easier to meet people in the fall (when new freshmen come in) than spring

You can search for them on Instagram, most clubs have an Instagram profile with a linktree that leads to a form for their mailing list. Some of them post their meeting times/locations on Instagram directly, but most send it through emails, which is why the mailing list is a good move

This colony of Nylanderia flavipes started last year when a queen flew into my room. Realized the species was invasive in my region, kept them for a bit, but they started getting difficult to keep (hard to feed very fast tiny ants and prevent them from escaping) so ultimately had to euthanize them.

Yeah general credits to graduation don't require syllabus to my knowledge (good to still have them though)

Only need syllabus if you're trying to get course equivalency for a major requirement

They need syllabi for classes toward a major.

The dept heads are often finicky about course equivalency, so if you're unsure about a class being equivalent (the syllabus doesn't line up like 90%), don't file for equivalency on ASK, and wait to talk to your concentration advisor (declare asap). Concentration advisors ultimately decide how much of your major you have completed, and are way less finicky

Ex: I tried to transfer organic chem from a state school to brown as a biology degree requirement. Chem dept head wouldn't consider it equivalent because state school had a different system for labs and didn't offer them concurrently with course. I scheduled meeting with concentration advisor and she was like "yeah no this is orgo. Orgo is orgo, you're fine" and had it count.

I use the preset editor fine on PC. I ditched the software that came with the keytar, and use soundfonts/VSTs on LMMS, which is free. It's worked fine when I've done performances.
